Hey y'all,

Been lurking this forum for a couple months now and figured it was time to make an account, happy to join the ranks.

Currently live and fish in the Austin area, and recently got my hands on a pedal kayak to take me off the bank. Picked the hobby back up after fishing periodically as a kid, most of the time with my Dad at the gravel pit he worked security for (hence the name) in Indiana. Non-pressured, ultra-clear, super deep pond all to ourselves... I may never fish waters quite like it ever again. But I've been back at it consistently for ~9 months now and am loving it. Can't wait to troll through the wealth of knowledge on this site.

On that subject, I've noticed that there are some power-users here that seem to give insight and advice that everyone typically respects and agrees with (ChrisFish, Mattlures, etc.). Is there any good way to look back through the posts at "highlight" posts that have good conversation or cover interesting topics? Or if thats too broad, what threads have you personally found most interesting/helpful in your time here??

Thanks!

Welcome! I’m sure you can search/find what you’re looking for. One of the moderators could probably answer your ‘highlight’ question.

Do a search on a topic of interest. If you find a good thread, you can always save it off.

I have an add-on for my FireFox that lets me save web-pages as E-Pub, with the pictures even. If it's a multi-page topic...I can add pages as 'chapters' and save the whole schmeer in one file...then import to my Calibre and read on my tablet at my leisure.

I also lurked for years before just joining. My account still has restrictions I’m assuming are for protection from spammers and bots.

Hello and Welcome to Bass Resource ~

The search tool can be very helpful.

As mentioned you can always ask just about anything.

Responses are routinely quick & insightful.

There's also a rather huge Bass Resources 'articles' section that has plenty of

very good info covering just about everything bass fishing related.

Welcome to BR

Search tool is in the upper right corner on the forum pages. You can search FishChris or Matt Lures for example.

Welcome! The guys on this site are great. So savvy and helpful.

I'd write more, but I'm busy building a back-in-time communicator. I'll tell my childhood self to pedal to Indiana to fish that gravel pit with you. I'll be the skinny girl on the blue bike with the balloon tires. I'll have my fiberglass fishing rod strapped to the bike. The reel will be a Zebco 606. I will be wearing hand-me-down clothes.
