i ordered some jig heads.  some Dirty Jigs version.  3/16 heads.  i picked all natural shad colored baits.  but i got a package if yellows ones.  i think all natural colors with a chartruese kicker bait.  for the added plummage.  thoughts?

in CA, i am allowed 3 hooks.  my A-rig already dedicated the hook positions.  but do you usually have hooks on the perimeter?

i can almost taste the Striped Bass fish tacos as i am typing this out.  :D

I use a variety of blade configurations and colors, Colorado and willows in silver, chartreuse, red and orange.  The baits are assorted sizes and colors of swim baits and flukes.

I'm so stingy with my LFT Magic Shads I haven't tried them on the A-rig.    They just work amazing as trailers on chatterbaits and on the back of Scrounger heads that I'm stocked up on them.

Might have to try a few.

OP, I went more budget friendly and used the Strike King Squadron baby heads in 1/8th and used Rage Swimmers in the smoke color.   Those Strike King jigheads have hooks as sharp as any I've ever felt on jigheads.....I mean super sticky.   They are high quality, but don't have the realism some more expensive heads have.

Fish really like it if my shoulder doesn't wuss out.

I didn’t use the traditional swimmers on jig heads on the A-rig.

I used Owner CPS spring screwed into the nose of Little Clipper Trashfish shad 4” on the outside wires and 6” trout on the center wire.

I use a 5 wire A-rig and 2 of 4” dummies on the top 2 wires with no hooks, 2 of the 4” with hook* and the center 6” with a hook*.

* size 4 treble hook for the 4” and size 2 for the 6”. The treble hook is rigged using 1” length of 7 strand 40# wire crimped in the middle creating 2 loops, 1 end with the hook, the other loop end attached to the wire swivel clip.

For added weight use a pearl white tungsten bullet weight 1/2 oz to 1 oz pegged to the A-rig head after tying on the line.
