Super User OkobojiEagle Posted November 11, 2022 Super User Posted November 11, 2022 Give me a couple good spinnerbait/jig skirt replacement pliers options. Also, what gauge wire do you use to replace the rubber band. Thanks oe Quote

Super User WRB Posted November 11, 2022 Super User Posted November 11, 2022 Kayser The Skirt Factory Tool works and not expensive. Living Rubber and Barlow’s sells similar pliers. Tom 1 Quote

Super User smalljaw67 Posted November 12, 2022 Super User Posted November 12, 2022 I use 26 gauge wire but it is on the thin side. Most use 22 or 24 gauge wire, I get dyed copper wire from my local craft store. Super User Cgolf Posted November 13, 2022 Super User Posted November 13, 2022 Just curious where you would get the Kayser The Skirt Factory Tool Tom mentioned. All the sites I find mentioned are ones I haven’t heard of before. Quote
Super User WRB Posted November 13, 2022 Super User Posted November 13, 2022 A quick search shows 3 suppliers for The Skirt Factory Tool with stock;Living Rubber, Zeiner’s, My Tackle. I bought mine from Barlow’s Tackle along with skirt tabs, try calling them. Sold my 2 of my skirt pliers to a BR member a few years back. The plier that opens 3 ways is more expensive doesn’t work as good as the 2 way plier with locking pin and holder to put the opened band in to insert the skirt tab. The plier looks cheap stamped from sheet metal but works good. Quote

I am giving this to my parents to order for Christmas and want to make sure these sites are ok. My go to sites Barlows, LPO, and Fishing skirts don’t carry it. Quote

Super User Munkin Posted November 16, 2022 Super User Posted November 16, 2022 This is my wire tieing setup below. As for skirt tools I have most of them but like the Skirts Plus pen one best. Allen 1 Quote

Allen I have been using that pen one for a while and the one thing I like about it is I know the exact placement of the material to get the skirt the way I want it. It just can be a pain to get the skirt bands on the tool is the only downside so it is a bit slower to work with. I did order a C ring pliers so we will see how that works out. Only downside unlike the specific tool, it doesn't lock in place with the band open. Quote
