Global Moderator Mike L Posted November 11, 2022 Global Moderator Posted November 11, 2022 How’d everyone fair? My son lives on a barrier island just east of Melbourne and at its height he had high winds and very heavy rain but didn’t last long as it moved through quick comparatively speaking. Very little outside damage. He lives about 1/4 mile from the ocean and he could here waves crashing from his driveway! Being 1/4 of the intensity rating of Ian it could have been a lot worse. I hope everyone up there is well Mike 3 Quote
Captain Phil Posted November 11, 2022 Posted November 11, 2022 We are near the center of Florida about equidistant from both coasts. I believe we had a few 60 mph gusts, but mostly it was a rather blustery day. Rain wasn't as heavy as we expected. We never lost power and our trees are still upright. ☺️ 4 Quote
Global Moderator Mike L Posted November 11, 2022 Author Global Moderator Posted November 11, 2022 If any members here don’t have power, post or pm me and I will gather up some generators from family and friends that you’re more than welcome to use. We can meet up somewhere and I’ll get them to you. Mike 5 2 Quote

Global Moderator TnRiver46 Posted November 11, 2022 Global Moderator Posted November 11, 2022 It’s been raining pretty good all day, our drought seems to have ended with one fell swoop I don’t think it will flood but it’s wet 1 Quote
Global Moderator TnRiver46 Posted November 11, 2022 Global Moderator Posted November 11, 2022 I may have spoken too soon, drove thru some standing water about everywhere while ago Quote
Super User N Florida Mike Posted November 11, 2022 Super User Posted November 11, 2022 we had winds up to around 50 except the News just said we had a gust over hurricane strength. Power never went out. We Had about 4 inches of rain, mostly overnight. It washed the rest of the lakes algae out , so it’s clear now. The roof leaked again even though I had 3 tarps up?. Our coast is a mess, especially South of us. Daytona was esp. hard hit .St augustine flooded badly as usual. No tornadoes near us this time though . It was basically like a 24 hour thunderstorm without the thunder… 1 1 Quote
Super User slonezp Posted November 12, 2022 Super User Posted November 12, 2022 I guess hurricanes are popular with surfers. Quote
GRiver Posted November 12, 2022 Posted November 12, 2022 I live on the St John’s River, it flooded here, never really went down from Ian, so the ground was already saturated. The wind for a while was 90 degrees to the dock worst case scenario ya could get, and broke a couple dock lines. That was not fun trying to fix that in the storm. We have a major cleanup to do but no real damage. 1 Quote
Captain Phil Posted November 12, 2022 Posted November 12, 2022 After Ian, we drove over to the St. John's River ramp on Highway 44. The floating ramps were scattered all over the place and the park was closed. I can only imagine what they look like now. Quote
