Super User South FLA Posted December 1, 2010 Super User Posted December 1, 2010 A day on the lake in a Triton is a built in Lats, Pecs and biceps workout in all in one!! What is it about the Triton hulls that make them chine so bad, when compared to other similar boats? Quote
fishn hard Posted December 1, 2010 Posted December 1, 2010 Man i would like to see him try and drive a Allison mine starts to try and chine at about 20mph It takes some seat time to learn to drive the A boat but man after you learn they are the funnest boat to drive.old Mr Allison shore knew what he was doing when he built the Pad on the Allison that's why there the fast bass boat in the world with minimal amount of horse power Quote
Super User Redlinerobert Posted December 4, 2010 Super User Posted December 4, 2010 I'll stick to my Z22. Quote
Super User SoFlaBassAddict Posted December 4, 2010 Super User Posted December 4, 2010 Call me crazy, but that don't look fun. I wouldn't want to spend 30 grand or however much a Triton is, just to deal with that problem without adding a jackplate, different prop, etc etc to fix it. If I buy a boat, I kind of want it to work out of the box. Quote
Super User bassfisherjk Posted December 5, 2010 Super User Posted December 5, 2010 I agree with Eric 100%. Quote
BassCatt Posted December 6, 2010 Posted December 6, 2010 I think its just the nature of the beast with faster hulls. I don't want to generlize the issue and say all fast boats chine walk, because I know some hulls tend to chine easier than others. Iff I over trim my cat it starts to walk around 75+. When I work to keep the boat from starting to chine, I can regularly hit 80+mph. If I keep the trim somewhat neutral, its like setting cruise at 74-75 mph. Quote
Hot Rod Posted December 6, 2010 Posted December 6, 2010 When I first read this subject my mind wandered (as it often does) and I thought, "Now there is a great name for a rock band: Chine Walk". ;D I can hear it now: "Dude did you catch the lastest Chine Walk video from the Triton set? Its killer!" But sersiously, that video makes me appreciate my Stratos even more. Quote

But sersiously, that video makes me appreciate my Stratos even more. by buddy had one of those SRX Statos i think thats what it was it was the one that they only made a few of and let me tell you that thing was a handful to drive you could not keep it from walking i tryed for a full summer to get that boat set up to ware you could drive it past 75 it would get nuts at about 60 and it was bad. Here to find out it was a flaw in the hull design and the dealer he got it from traded him that Srx for a 201pro and that was a nice boat to drive and fish out of Quote
Lcomfort Posted December 7, 2010 Posted December 7, 2010 I run a 2009 Nitro Z-9 250XS power and had the engine tuned by Simon motorsports and shes pushing around 340 to the prop the boat is rock solid at 85MPH you have to try to make the boat chine walk to get it to do it. it is with ease the easiest boat to drive past 80 ive ever run. I had a Bullet 21XD a while back with a moded 2.5 super shorty on it and that boat was 109MPH on GPS half tank of gas and no gear with one person. it was a real handful past 95MPH and got real hairy at 105MPH however the boat was rock solid under 82MPH and its cruise speed was way faster then most hulls WOT.. I wanted the fastest boat in the club and had it with ease but that boat didnt last long it didnt fish good enough and decks was to small but it was FAST lol. Quote

Did you watch the video in the link in the first post of this thread? THAT'S chine walk. Way2slow's probably got the most knowledge of anyone in this thread. I'll defer the explanation to him. Quote
