Are the new tatula xt rods any good for 99.99 or are the tats with the cork handle a way better rod for $50 more? Ive owned the aird x and procyon and was presently surprised so I was thinking about trying a little higher end model. looking to get spinning and casting rods in either line

I have the tatula in the cork handle and it’s definitely sensitive. Well worth the price. I couldn’t find a xt in the action I wanted locally. I was looking for a medium heavy extra fast action. I have heard great things about the xt line though. You can’t go wrong either way.

The XT looks like similar reel seat like the Fuego rods, it looks like you have more rod specific actions with the Tatula and the full cork grip. I would wait to purchase towards the end of the month for holiday sales, then you can buy a few extra lures too.. :unibrow:

I didn't fully appreciate the full cork grip on my Tatula 7'3" MH/F "All Around" casting rod until I reared back with a Carolina rig (on another rod) and snagged the Tatula rod just as I let fly with would have been a super bomb cast. It snatched the Tatula rod and Daiwa SV TWS reel from where it was laying in my boat and flung it about 30 feet in front of the boat and into the 50 degree water, much to my horror, LOL.

I can "LOL" now because, the cork handle was buoyant enough to float the rig with the handle just bobbing at the surface long enough for me to get to it and rescue it from what would have been a certain premature death with a less buoyant rig.

When I originally bought it, I remember thinking that I wished it had a split grip, but I am now thankful it didn't. It is my absolute favorite rod of that type (of which I have owned and fished many).

Don't have the Tatula, but I do have 3 of the Tatula XT rods. I think for the $$ these are pretty dang good rods, I have no complaints about them.

I’m going to need to look into these since the holidays are coming up. I like my Aird X paired with my Pflueger Trion spinning reel but I’m looking to add to my arsenal so the Tatulas may be my next buy soon.

That's one of my shore rigs - Aird-X 6'6" M/F with a Trion-30.

It’s like they were made for each other. Smooth as butter and very sensitive.

Another option that's absolutely on par with the XT is the Ark Lancer Pro. They're having a BOGO sale right now, and you can get two shipped to your door for $120. An absolute steal.

Can't stand an EVA grip period!

According to Diawia's website the Tatula ® Bass Rod now has a split grip. Ain't seen one yet  not even in pictures.

The reel seat on the Tatula ® Bass Rod is a strong selling point in my opinion.

The Tatula TTU711MHXB is in my opinion an ideal jig rod.
