Got a chance to hold some of the casting Poison Adrena rods at Scheels yesterday and fell in love with them. I’ve been doing my research on different rods for Black Friday. Wanting to get an all round spinning rod to compliment my 712s Kaden. So far my top options are the St. Croix LTB 7’1” medium, the 7ft medium Expride, and the 7ft medium Poison Adrena. However, the 2 reviews I saw on TW said that the 7ft medium PA is tip heavy and not as good as the other models. Anyone have experience with the 7ft medium PA?

One of the reviews on TW was mine.

I really wanted to like the rod but couldn't due to it being tip heavy.

I other models in the line up that i tried are pretty good rods - 6'11 mh and 6'10 ul.

The old model expride 7' med was also a good rod. I have not fished the new model expride 7' med,  but i really liked the old model. It was balanced and had decent sensitivity. If you like the new handle style then I'm pretty sure the new model would serve you well.

I have the 6’11 medium plus poison adrena. It’s a very good rod, very sensitive balance’s well. I would say for the money the expride is probably the best bet. I own 2 exprides 1st gen 7’3 xh and the 6’10 medium and they are great value for the money. I don’t have any experience with the st croix ltb, I have 4 st croix rods from the mojo bass to the legend glass and last but not least a legend xtreme. I value my rods by what they offer by the price. The adrenas are very nice but for the money they cost I think that you can do better.

I have fished the 6'11 poison and just bought the SC legend tourney in 7-1. I think you will like the handles on the expride and the SC over the poison. The locking nut comes loose and was uncomfortable in my opinion. Cork grips are super nice on both. Very light rods too.
