Blue Raider Bob Posted October 31, 2022 Posted October 31, 2022 Always love to view places around the country to fish. Here is a group of pictures taken from the South Pittsburg TN boat ramp on the Tennessee River a few miles downriver from the Nickajack Dam. From left to right is upriver to downriver. Long Island is visible in the last picture and the Alabama state line is just past the head of Long Island. Current is about 1.5 MPH at this water stage. The bridge in the picture is the Hwy 156 Bridge over the River at South Pittsburg. The dilapidated dock is my water gauge. When the water is below the platform go fishing. When the water is roaring over the top of the platform, I do not! All three species of Bass are found here with Spots being prominent, and Smallies fairly abundant as well. Note all the boats on the water......that's right! I often have the river to myself, shared with Ospreys, Bald Eagles, and an occasional barge! 12 Quote
thediscochef Posted October 31, 2022 Posted October 31, 2022 My happy place at Ray Roberts. All of my Black Bass PBs were caught right at this spot - 6.8lb LMB, 2.4lb Spot, 1-2lb smallmouth. Also my PB black drum (10+) and Crappie (1.5) The left two-thirds of the photo are the entrance to a cove of hydrilla plumes, with the entrance made up of boulders and riprap. I hammer em here every day. I've pulled in at least six fish over 5lb there since Christmas, probably a dozen that were over 4lb. All but one of my biggest bass have been caught here. Wish I was there right now... 8 Quote

Super User A-Jay Posted October 31, 2022 Super User Posted October 31, 2022 Show your fishing holes! I am a huge fan of 'the view' as well. And I have collect quite a few pics of different spots up this way which makes it hard to select a local favorite without doing disservice to at least one. So my 'favorite' here is coming to you straight from Sinaloa, Mexico. This is the view while having lunch at Lake Baccarac Lodge. A-Jay (just noticed that this thread is in the Smallmouth Bass Forum. There's not many brown bass in the lake pictured above). 12 Quote

Bdnoble84 Posted November 2, 2022 Posted November 2, 2022 Any view is better when I have the boy with me. That being said, the picture of the small stream, thats my home water. Anytime I need grounded a couple hours with the sound of those riffles will get me right. The others are a bigger river, but the sound of the rush of water coming over the dam works pretty well also. 11 Quote
