Cody28 Posted October 31, 2022 Posted October 31, 2022 I’m looking at picking up some of the new LTB rods and wanted some opinions on specific models to see if any of them really stand out. I already have the 711 HMF and am really enjoying it for both flipping and A rigs. I’m considering the 75 MHF for dragging stuff around, the 68 MXF for jerk-baits/flukes, the 72 HM for chatterbaits and spinnerbaits. Can’t find a whole lot out there on these models so any advice/experience would be greatly appreciated! Also is the jump from Victory really worth it in terms of sensitivity? Quote
Global Moderator TnRiver46 Posted November 1, 2022 Global Moderator Posted November 1, 2022 This is what I’ve got. So far I’ve used it for jerkbaits crankbaits Chatterbait spinnerbaits and even some smaller jigs like a 3/8 oz bitsy flip. I think I also tossed some jighead swimbaits 1/4 oz and up, quite the versatile rod. I’ve never used the victory so I can’t say which is more sensitive. It casts super easy and is lightweight for having glass in there. It seems perfect for any moving bait but I’ve been having fun getting jig bites with it. I have 15 lb invisix on there and it goes BOINGGG when a bass sucks it up 2 Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted November 2, 2022 Global Moderator Posted November 2, 2022 IMO, yes it is worth the jump from the Victory. The Victory line is very nice, but I can feel the difference with the LTB rods. I have the 7' 5" MH/F on order and have used the 7' 2" M/M a good bit. 1 Quote

Hope to get to put it to the test this weekend! It looks and feels very nice though. Wanted it for jigs and T-rigs and feels like it will do that very well. 1 Quote

JacobB006 Posted November 10, 2022 Posted November 10, 2022 I just picked up a 7'MLF LWBand a 6'8"MF LTB. In my limited experience, I'd be confident in saying they are definitely a jump in sensitivity from the victory. They are close to the Avid, but seem to have a little on them as well. If you like the full cork handle, take a look at the Legend Walleye Tournament series as well. I believe they are built on the same blanks, just one has the full cork handle. The Walleye series also has a lot more options available. 2 Quote

SproDD79 Posted November 11, 2022 Posted November 11, 2022 I have the 7'10 big cranker, now that the guide size is being mentioned, they may be on the small side, but I have not had any issues with them. Sometimes I use all flouro and others I use braid to copolymer leader and have no issues with the knot going through the guides. Quote
