It's about the only fishing I watch..tournaments that is.

I enjoy the competition and find it compelling sometimes, if it's close at the end.

I have my DVR set up for BASS/MLF/Cups etc.. and watch them when I want.

Fast forward is great for ALL sports....lol.

I watch all the and follow a few leagues, MLF, NPFL, BASS, WON, APEX. I prefer the AAA tournaments. I find it harder and harder to watch any smallmouth dropshot or livescope tournaments, so around July I stop watching them this year. I like grinder tournaments like the Chesapeake bay, Red river etc.  I follow west coast and Japanese anglers because I like the finesse approach or big swimbaits.

I watched the pros looking at there screens mounted on the bow and was a bummer to see.

That's called midsummer drop shotting with livescope for smallmouth and its unbearable to fish that strategy, much less watch.  lol

I watch the pro tournaments on the lakes I fish.

I find myself more interested when there is a "local" event too.  Mille Lacs and LaCrosse both come to mind.  Wish they would fish them earlier in the season though.

I DVR those that come through my fairly basic cable package.  I put them on in the winter when I'm not out fishing.  I like watching professionals compete in a lot of different things.  Not every tournament is great to watch, but some are.  I especially like when we get to see some of the decision process regarding when to move, whether to make a long run, lmb or smb, etc.

Like others have said, if it's a tournament on a body of water I fish, I'll watch, just to see where they're catching them. For example, before my tournament at Cayuga Lake this year, I watched a few tournaments on YouTube that were on it. Much to no one's surprise, I didn't learn much watching a tournament that took place in July for a tournament I fished in May. Unless you've had your own video released on VHS (Rick Clunn, Denny Brauer, Kevin VanDam, etc.) there's a good chance I've never heard of you.

Bass fishing fanatic or bass fisherman fanatic? I have a hard time keeping up with the 30 trails, all with different rules, all with different pros.  Used to be pretty easy you had BASS and FLW along with the qualifying trails to make it to the big show in either trail.  Now there’s heat winners, cup winners, group winners, stage winners and 20 different championships with 40 different pros hoisting trophy’s being “Champion”.  I’ve met, over the years of being in the industry, many of the OG pros and those are the ones I will follow.  I do enjoy the shows about fishing like Zona’s and a few others.  I stay away from the YouTube fishermen unless I’m looking for information on a specific body of water.  IMHO all this effort to make tournament fishing “mainstream” has done nothing but dilute the product.

Seriously! I used to watch and follow the Elites and then when they all jumped ship and started this nonsense: "Now there’s heat winners, cup winners, group winners, stage winners and 20 different championships with 40 different pros hoisting trophy’s being “Champion” I just tuned out and never looked back.

I watch them all, well I have them on the tube so it’s more like background music, listening but not paying attention. Fishing playing quietly in the background is less obtrusive than the blather of the day, poorly conceived sit-coms and game shows. I’m usually on websites about fishing or watching utube videos of fishing. I grew up with Ray Scott, Roland Martin, Jimmy Huston, Hank Parker and Mr. Dance giving me new “tips and tricks” so having fishing on tv is an ordinary thing for me.
Other than sports I don’t watch much tv. I don’t tweeter, faceplant , instantlygram or clicktok so the tube(s) is my entertainment when not in the garage, on the golf course or the river.

Fish?

or

Watch someone fish?

Is this really a question?

Well, when it is below 0 degrees F, with 20mph or higher winds, for me it is not a question....I will WATCH fishing since I can't (or won't---I don't ice fish) go fishing. Wish I had the budget to go south for the winter,,,but wifey would not go even if we could afford it,

I watch all tourneys that are on tv. Mlf, bass , college bass, redfish, and walleye, although i never fish for walleye or have ever fished in salt. Most of the Mlf gang i can identify by voice. Once in awhile i learn something, but am ok if i don't. We do what we like when we can....

I believe that life is a participatory—not a spectator—sport. Rather do something myself than watch someone else do something. ?

Well, I've just been buzzing around this lake fishing for bass (or anything else that will bite) since I was eight years old. At 67 I'm still doing it. Never payed any attention to the circuit.

I’ll put it on tv but it’s more background noise for whatever else I am doing. Other than Defoe, b lat and Ike I couldn’t tell you another pros name. The only reason I even stubbled on knowing these guys was Ike is fairly local you could say. B lat has a video fishing my local water with a guide here. I watched a video of Defoe running a river.

I fished the Ike Foundation Charity Tournament and drew Ott on the Delaware River the same year he won the classic. We took second place. The way that dude can cast and the places he put that full size nitro were just jaw dropping. He had me so far up a creek I was convinced we would beach at any second on an outgoing tide.

Yeah his concern in the situation wasnt very high. As mellow as he is on TV is exactly how he is in life. He would pick the trolling motor up and drop it OVER a log and just power that boat up over the log. Those guys beat the living hell out of boats, anyone that buys one after theyre done is insane.
