Can't use that rig in MN and spider rigs from a boat are also illegal. Check your state's regulations. Quote
Super User Bankbeater Posted October 26, 2022 Super User Posted October 26, 2022 The first thing I would do is to make sure the lake you are fishing has a good crappie population. A lot of the pressured lakes around me have a very low population due to over fishing. Quote
Super User Catt Posted October 26, 2022 Super User Posted October 26, 2022 If the body of water is pressured I'm definitely throwing shiners. Quote

And I fish a private reservoir most of the time anyway. I could take 100 fish if I wanted to. I hardly want to take any though. 1 Quote

Funny you mention it, I caught this one last weekend on a dropshot with a Yamamoto Shad Shape Worm. Not a normal catch and not the target species but it was a biggun.? 1 Quote

Not a normal catch and not the target species but it was a biggun.? I went fishing with an older gentleman who is a crappie angler, and I mean only crappie! He had Livescope and we were targeting crappie with drop shots. Worked like a charm and I had experience with them so we had a good day. Many crappie came home with me that day and if I ever fish vertically with sonar again, I'll use a drop shot to get down to them. Quote
