The final month of my season was ridiculous.  I went muskie fishing twice and bass fishing 5 times since Sept 17, and it was on the category of extraordinary almost every time.  A couple of times were epic.  Fall fishing is often hit or miss for me, but there is usually a point when I hammer the fish before the season ends.  Last fall, that point never occurred because it was so warm.  This fall was a complete 180.  I won a small derby in late September, boated my 7th muskie of the season, and caught my biggest bass of the season, all in a 34 day span to finish 2022.

A spinnerbait was an extremely productive lure during this span.  The past 2 outings, the chatterbait did more damage because the water temp dropped and I needed a slightly slower presentation.  Its always a bit of a buzzkill when the season ends, but I feel pretty good about how this one finished.

Awesome, I've had Covid and zero energy the past 3 weeks so I haven't been out.  Going to winterize the boat today...but will hope for another nice day in the next couple weeks for one last hurrah.

That's unfortunate.  I hope things improve not only on the health side, but the fishing side for you neighbor.  My boat gets winterized on Tuesday.

Great way to end the season, gimruis. Always easier to put the boat up knowing you crushed it at the end. That day is fast approaching for me as well. I hope to have a couple more trips.

My bass fishing has sucked since late August locally. Did stay in a cabin the week before last at a lake north of me 40ish minutes and did well there. That said I've been having good luck in the local river for walleye and Sauger so that's been awesome.

Hey @Deephaven I am seeing 50's tomorrow in the forecast.  Is the Ranger heading out for one last hurrah?
