Does anyone have the newer Plano Edge Jig/Bladed Jig box in the 3600 size?

I believe it's newer and just trying to gauge how many jigs/bladed jigs can fit in the box.

I have the 3700 size but also want the 3600 size too.

Any info or pics are appreciated.  Thanks.

I just bought one last week. Bought mine for standard 3/8 Oz flipping jigs but it smashes the weedgaurd down something terrible so my only option was to put my chatterbaits in there. It comes with 4 rows that fit 11 baits per row. However as you can see I could only use 3 rows so a maximum of 33. It's not allowing me to attach pic?

Got to resize the image to under 1.46 mb.

That sucks because I use a lot Project Z weedless series with brush guards.

I was really disappointed as well. No idea why they didn't make it thicker. It will push your weedgaurd down onto the hook permanently. I only have 2 chatterbaits with the 2 wire weedgaurds.

Good info thanks.  Question…do you usually trim your weedguards or do you leave them stock?

I was hoping to use the box for my jackhammers, swiimjigs and jigs.

So seems like they scaled down the box to the 3600 size instead of using the same thickness of the 3700?

In regards to weedgaurds I have trimmed from time to time but not always. Some are just way to long...like on some compact jigs. In regards to thickness, unfortunately they are the same. I was aware of this problem, but i didn't realize how bad it was. Then i seen some on YouTube after they had been in one for an extended period of time and i don't want all my brand new jigs to look like that.

For those worried about the weed guards I believe I just tilted mine 45 degrees to eliminate the issue when I used it for swim jigs. I now use it for spinnerbaits because I don’t mix well with jigs, maybe someday.

I was going to ask if turning them sideways would solve the problem. I would guess that would cut into capacity a bit. Any idea how much?

My hunch is none, because the end ones could just overlap with its neighbor. The only issue is you may lift up 2 jigs instead of one. If nobody posts pictures today I will attempt to remember to check this tonight and post a picture.

Found one on social media that I posted, its good for something. You can see that some are angled a fair bit. I did make sure that when I closed it none were compressed. I know that because that is the type of thing that would really grind my gears lol.

Offering another option for those like me that have a hard time spending the money for the Edge boxes.

I bought the Plano Elite spinnerbait box and use it for my jigs and bladed jigs. It is taller to work with spinnerbaits and doesn't flatten the weedguards, And I got it on sale for around $15.99 if I remember correctly compared to the $30 - $40 some places are wanting to charge for the Edge boxes.

Just checked online and see them for anywhere from $17.99 - $22.99

Oh,.. And it has 3 rows of 14 slots so holds 42 jigs

So just to verify, this is the 3700 size box and NOT the 3600 right?

That is the 3700 just to show they don’t need to be vertical. I would hope that both are the same depth. Well just looked on TW and the 3700 is 1.88” and the 3600 is 1.6. I didn’t think the 3700 box was tall enough, that is kinda not smart. Surprised they did that knowing the weed guard would get smushed.

Sorry for making an assumption out of something that should have been true. I guess I am the a.. today.

No worries.  Appreciate your info.

Makes no sense that Plano decided to go even thinner on the 3600 box.  No one there considered the length of most weed guards although it’s advertised as a jig box?

Honestly if they made one like 1” tall it would make a great spinnerbait box. 2” tall for both boxes I bet would be a pretty sweet spot for jigs.

You all may find this guys options to fix it comical. Essentially putting the holders in deeper boxes.

Didn't make any sense to me neither. I mean I have no idea how they could overlook it. I'm wondering if anyone uses the spinnerbait edge box for jigs? It's thicker but only comes in 3700 size.

Update:

So I purchased the 3600 jig/bladed jig box from BPS because I had some points, and I wanted to test it out for myself.

This box is HORRIBLE.  Don’t know how Plano let this box even hit the market.  Did they not test it out for themselves?

Like stated previously by @JustBassinThru it smashes the weedguards on all jigs/swimjigs.

The design/row placement even when using it for bladed jigs just doesn’t make sense.

I have the 3700 size and love but the 3600 is a failure.

This box is definitely going back to BPS.

Plano had an Instagram post showcasing this product. In the pictures u can CLEARLY see how the jigs weedgaurds had been permanently pressed down and to the side virtually ruining the jigs IMO. It is absolutely perplexing how they apparently think that is acceptable. I replied and you can see their response. I need to call.

One of the pics on Instagram showing the damage.

I have 3 of the 3700 Edge jig boxes. I use them for storage only. I don't have any of the 3600 size. I was thinking about this post last night and realized instead of angling the jigs sideways try this. Raise the jig head between the plastic slots so the head is off the bottom of the box. This allows you to angle the hook lower which lowers the weed guard making it flush with the top of the box.

Again I do not have a 3600 size to test this configuration but I don't see why it wouldn't work.

For chatterbaits the 3700 edge boxes work great, and most chatterbaits will fit two deep without a problem. So you can (as an example) stack two 3/8 whites on top of each other, and two 1/2 oz whites next to it. Handy for the colors you carry a bunch of in the same size/color.

Sounds like the 3600 would still be good for chatterbaits but not at all for jigs.

I need to go check my jig storage box though, now I'm wondering if I bent up a bunch of weedguards.

Tried out this theory and the weed guards still got smashed.

In order to avoid this, weed guards would have to be trimmed extremely short to where it would be pointless.

Another issue is that if you plan on keeping any trailers on, it makes space in the box extremely  limited.

I think the only realistic use for this box is to store bladed jigs with no trailers.

Since I still have the box, here are some comparison pics of the plastic holders to show the huge difference in height.

I am curious with all the complaints I saw on you tube about the 3700 jig box and even on some forums, the only thing I can figure is that nobody actually complained to Plano, or very few, and Plano doesn't track social media. If that would have taken place there is no way they would have made the 3600 box shorter.

Getting pros input is somewhat garbage because they burn through tackle at a different rate then the people they are actually selling the boxes too.

Is the 3600 really that shallow? I would be curious to see how spinnerbaits sit in the box and how much space to the lid when it is closed? I actually like the 3700 as a spinnerbait box, but it is a little too tall for that lol.

So what's the solution for jigs and chatterbaits then?  I've read through this thread and watched the videos.  Looks like there isn't a good solution with this type of box setup for jigs and maybe not for chatterbaits.  I don't know about you guys, but I've got more than 70 jigs and chatterbaits in my 3700 right now (four groups for jigs, swimjigs, finesse jigs, and chatterbaits.  CB split by weight, jigs and swimjigs split by color, finesse jigs all together).

That is pretty much what I do in a standard 3700 box as well. Since mine are 90% swim jigs I just separate by weight. While they aren't as nicely organized, visually at least, I actually fit more jigs in this way and have space  left over for slider heads and shakey heads. This makes me wonder why I bought the jig box since I apparently already had a good solution. I am a bit of an organization geek, so the Edge jig box definitely looks nice when packed well, just not the most efficient use of space.

I love the 3700 box but it doesn’t fit in my backpack.
