INbassMAN Posted November 11, 2010 Posted November 11, 2010 I'm looking at a 24V Minn Kota All Terrain Trolling Motor (65#). The one its replacing is a 12v. I just want to confirm that the proper way to hook it up is to hook a cable from + of one battery to the - of the other. Then, hook the black wire from TM to - of one battery and the red to + of the other. Also, can I hook up the rest of my electronics to either one of those two batteries, or should I buy a third battery? Thanks, Kevin Quote

Thanks, Kevin Yes you can hook up your electronics to just one battery. see diagram below. Just be aware that you can drain the one battery faster. Quote

Ann-Marie Posted November 21, 2010 Posted November 21, 2010 A Trollbridge24 will let you charge your 24 volt battery from the 12 volt alternator in your motor and it also equalizes the two batteries so they discharge evenly when running 12 volt items off one battery. Quote
