I’ve noticed that more than a couple of my “suspending” jerkbaits rise a little too quick for my liking I’m using super glue as of now to glue the smallest strips of lead to the bottom Giving me that true suspend that I want, I’m just curious as to what other ways there might be to Getting my baits to suspend the way I want them to that don’t involve a mess of glue (I’m trying to keep the stock hooks on)

I wouldn't recommend gluing anything to a jerkbait to get it to suspend better. The reason is that the way it suspends will change depending on water temperature. Jar11591 is spot on, suspend dots or suspend strips are what you want to use.

I wouldn't use glue either. Suspend dots or solder wrapped around the hook shanks is the way a personally do it .

You want to be able to take some weight off or add as the water temp changes.

Really, the 110 and Mc Stick are so good I seldom mess with them.

I've been known to tune a jerkbait or two.

Strips/dots & hardware gets me where I want to be most of the time.

Maybe the easiest way to adjust jerk baits is to change hooks to a lighter or heavier hook. Use a 2x hook to replace a 1x hook or increase the hook size by one. The inverse works for reducing weight.

Fly tyers use a lead tape which i prefer over the dots myself as I can adjust the size and placement more easily.

I also upgrade to heavier hooks or larger hooks to adjust characteristics as well.

Others solutions are probably better, but I've found using these on nose down suspenders to be very versatile to adjust to conditions.  It seems like the buoyancy changes fastest at temps that I like to fish jerkbaits.  I have a bag of different clipped lengths.  I haven't seen any issues in hook up ratio.
