VolFan Posted October 21, 2022 Posted October 21, 2022 Eggs are fine, but eat 1 or 2 not 6 or 7. Putting down your fork quickest, easiest, and most effective workout to lose weight and get overall healthier. 1 Quote

Isnt there a low fat vegetable oil I can fry with???♂️ @N Florida Mike Undoing a life time of a high cholesterol diet is an extremely individualized deal. Working very closely with your medical and nutritional specialist is often The best course of action. Cholesterol is a waxy substance found in your blood and in your cells. Your liver makes most of the cholesterol in your body. The rest comes from foods you eat. Cholesterol travels in your blood bundled up in packets called lipoproteins. Cholesterol itself isn’t bad. Your body needs some cholesterol to make hormones, vitamin D, and digestive fluids. Cholesterol also helps your organs function properly. Cholesterol comes in two forms: Low-density lipoprotein (LDL) is the “bad,” unhealthy kind of cholesterol. LDL cholesterol can build up in your arteries and form fatty, waxy deposits called plaques. High-density lipoprotein (HDL) is the “good,” healthy kind of cholesterol. It transports excess cholesterol out of your arteries to your liver, which removes it from your body. This information is readily available and has been for a long time. Seems folks just ignore it perhaps thinking that none of this will ever happen to them. Sometimes it doesn't but sometimes it does. Your call. A-Jay 2 1 Quote
Super User Deleted account Posted October 21, 2022 Super User Posted October 21, 2022 While a healthy balanced diet is important to good health, dietary cholesterol is not a big part of the equation, and as most things there is a strong genetic component. 4 Quote
Super User NYWayfarer Posted October 23, 2022 Super User Posted October 23, 2022 My blood pressure is normal but high cholesterol runs on my Dad’s side of the family. He had to have surgery 15 years ago to fix some of his clogged arteries. To avoid the same thing happening to me I exercise and walk regularly. Limit my consumption of red meats to a few times a month and watch what I eat. I also take a doctor prescribed rovuvastatin once a day before bed. 1 Quote

Girl from the Dr office told me the Doc said to don’t eat fried food, taters, white bread, sweets. And get more exercise to lose weight. Good grief. That’s like 75% of my diet. I also have HBP, but the BP perscription is helping that. For now , I’m reducing portions. Trying to get out and walk every day, but it’s cutting into my fishing time… What are y’alls experiences with it? I was told by my Doc if it is white don't bite and if it is sweet don't eat. Did I listen hell no. Now my cholesterol meds have been doubled and added a med for high blood glucose. I started listening the end of August dropped about 19 lbs and in Nov will have my blood checked again. 1 Quote
