The rain finally stopped here this afternoon but where my parents live just north of Elk River MN, over 3 inches has fallen the past 3 days.

I have a relative in Bismarck, ND and they have received almost 14 inches of snow today.  Northern MN will be receiving that tonight and tomorrow.

I'm sure @throttleplate will check in with us soon here an inform us how much white stuff has fallen in Fargo.

According to Accuweather - Fargo so far has just been 'brushed'...but central ND got dumped on.

Is that dark area that says 23.8 where Bismarck is?

I'll have to text my cousin and ask him what the tally is tomorrow.  Earlier today he said "about 13 inches."

As i look outside at 11:30 pm thursday night i see maybe 1/4 inch to 1/2 on top of my deck with very light snow falling which is supposed to end by midnite.

Friday high winds are expected to blow whatever is on the ground and cause blizzard like conditions.

Thursday we had record high temps.  Friday the temps dropped all day. Saturday about 1/2 hour south there was 5" to 6" of snow.  Monday night we are expected to get more snow.  They are saying it won't be very much.  We'll see.

A dusting is on the ground here already this morning, and expected to accumulate to an inch or so by this afternoon.  Another dusting to an inch could be possible tomorrow into Wednesday.

This weekend looks cold, like January cold.  High around 20 and lows in the single digits.  Some areas of northern MN may reach below zero at night.  Just 2 weeks ago it was near 70 degrees.  Guess we're going directly from summer to winter.

Here is the view from my front bay window and my back deck this morning.

LOL, we had a week of highs in the 70s with a couple of days pushing 80, it was 32 this morning it will be 29 tomorrow morning, and colder than average for the next couple of weeks, the fish (not to mention the insects) are confused. I got a talking to by the Admiral for procrastinating bringing in the plants...

Looks like it's tracking north again - I don't have that much in my yard yet.

Was going to go crappie fishing Sunday but wind was 15-25 although in the high 40’s.  I just came off my roof for the second time in 2 weeks trying to keep the gutters clear for the rain we are supposedly guaranteed tomorrow.  They are hinting it could be icy as well.  Hopefully just one more time on the roof this season then I’m done.

Is the tracked snowblower ready to "roll"?

You Know it.

It's been Bravo Zero (which mean ready to go) for a couple of weeks now.

Don't plan on using it for the first several snow events though.

I like to let the drive get all packed down with a solid base layer.

One that hopefully lasts until March or so.

I hope it snows this winter. I have lived here in Tennessee for 26 years and have had

measurable snow 4 times. Last year's blizzard dumped over two inches on us.

Today's predicted high is 63, by 9pm it'll drop below freezing....and stay there for the next week.

Weatherman heard I was coming back from Germany and was looking forward to fishing.

And we got a lot more than that here.  Good 3" in my yard although it did melt off a bit.

I probably ended up with about 1.5 - 2 inches.

My relative who lives in Mandan, ND got 20 inches.

Well, we finally got our first snow to the tune of around 3-4”. Hank has been ecstatic about it and as usual every first couple snows of the year, he wants out every 20-30 minutes so he can eat the snow. As I’ve mentioned a few times before he’s a Great Pyrenees and they’re nocturnal so him wanting out includes through the night! He got the stern voice after the third trip out. Message received on his end. I’m still in partial zombie mode today. ?

We’re forecasted to get another 4-6” through Saturday.
