This is the last full day of winter, spring is tomorrow!

Astronomical spring anyway - meteorological spring has been here for a while already

"Meteorological spring – March 1 through May 31 – is the transition between the three coldest and three warmest months of the year."

Models are hinting at a significant warm up in about a week here.  Possibly 60 degrees in southern MN.  Spring!!!

8 inches of high moisture snow last night. Blowing it with the all gear driven bobcat snowblower was like blowing the runny snot out of my nose.

Meanwhile down here - rain and lower 40s has started to uncover my back sidewalk.

Well, I got about 6" of heart-attack snow here last night. Worst part is that the guy who usually snow-blows for me is off with his wife and daughters for Spring Break.

Looks like I'll be doing shifts outside so I can get where I need to go.

Bipolar weather here. A couple days ago it was snowing so hard I couldn’t see an 1/8 mile in front of me. The other morning 18*. Mix in sun and 50*. Yesterday, 2.5” of rain, 55* and thunderstorms rolled through.

That’s about what I got too. It’s like concrete.

Prior to switching to snow last night, I got a lot of rain, sleet, and hail (small). Luckily the April sun is doing its job now.

Upstate NY winters suck and can be brutal, but you guys are making me glad I don’t live in the upper Midwest. Seems like winter is a little longer for y’all. Here in Saratoga County NY it’s going up to 70° today and dumping an inch of rain. Higher elevations up in the Adirondacks are still getting whacked with winter but where I am it’s just about over.

This is unusual for the amount of moisture here. I’m sure we’re up to #6 all time on snow this winter in the Twin Cities since 1895 after last nights dumping.

The odd thing is that we’ve had several large rain events here too this winter. That’s odd for up here in Dec, Jan, and Feb.

It really hasn’t been that cold either. We’ve only had two “cold” snaps all winter. Once around Christmas and another in early February. That’s it.

What I heard is that we were at #5 before last night's storm...we may hit #3.

Yep - it's official

"3rd Snowiest Winter on Record at the MSP Airport!!

Well the numbers are in and the official tally at the MSP Airport as of 7AM Saturday was 8.5" and that brings us to the 3rd snowiest winter on record!

1st: 98.6" (Set in 1983-84)
2nd: 95.0" (Set in 1981-82)
3rd: 89.7" (Set in 2022-23)"

I saw that. Fargo and northern MN in the bullseye. Mostly rain down here, which I’m fine with.

I remember the discussion last Fall about drought and if we’d ever catch up… Looks like we have!
