I know.

Been just miserable here for like a week straight.

Probably be the last few trips out in the Pro-V Bass before the deep sleep.

First freeze warning of the year tonight.  Forecasted low is 31.   We don't get cold enough for the lakes to get hard, so I can fish all year.

Agreed ~

I'll say that it's almost always about one's Perspective, Attitude & Priorities.

So this latitude & the somewhat harsh climate that is routinely associated with it,

seems to provide a very effective buffer zone between my life

and deals that are not part of the underlined text above.

Snow showers will continue tonight for most of Northern Michigan with accumulations up to 4 inches mostly right at A-Jay's house.  Most other areas will only see accumulations around an inch but could be more in the higher terrains. Winds will remain strong into tonight, which will amplify travel hazards with the falling snow.

May be an image of map, sky and text

You sound like a broad....

On November 2nd, make your way to Chicago. I'm having a customer appreciation day at my store where I will be serving my not so famous chile. I'll make an exception for you. Take note, I'm serving it from 11am-2pm which is 10am-1pm in Michigan speak.

We're back into drought conditions here...the dusting I got a few days ago melted off by noon. Our next chance for precip is Sunday - but with it being near 70, it'll be rain.

Still fishing here in the western part of VA but the wood boiler is running.

Water temps finally dipped into the 50's this week.

The older I get the less tolerable I am of the cold. My guess is from almost 20 years of working outside.

As far as Nov 2, our company is in Chicago but I doubt I can justify a drive down there.

Funny story, a few years ago a guy from around here got laid off during the winter. Well he didn’t want to be and talked with the district manager from Florida who said “come on down”. The guy didn’t get it cleaned up here. Three or so weeks pass and during a DM meeting the Florida DM had said the guy was doing awesome down in Florida. Confused our DM looked at the gps and sure enough the guy drove his work truck from Michigan to Florida without anyone knowing. ?

Apparently Sunday night into Monday, a significant low pressure system is coming this way.  I am seeing up to 1.5 inches of rain in some areas, north of the Twin Cities.  We have not had anything more than a tenth of an inch of rain here since August 27.  I am also seeing 70 for temps on Saturday and 73 on Sunday, with a higher dewpoint which is how the atmosphere will tap into moisture and potentially drop significant rain.

The Mississippi River Basin as a whole is very low.  Barges are running aground.  So this could be extremely beneficial to a very large regional economy.

Record warmth here this past week.  75 degrees yesterday.  Looking at the 10 day forecast, I definitely see more fall/winter type weather rather than the summertime temps we've had this week.

Going to be in the 70s this weekend, my birthday is Saturday, but instead of being on the water, I’ll be at wedding all weekend. :mad10:

Two weeks ago it was in the mid-80's.  It was 21 this morning.

We went from summer to winter in a matter of 4 days.  The leaves are still on the trees.

Same thing for spring earlier this year. We went from freezing overnight temps and upper 40's, to low 90's in a matter of a week.  We had a 4-day spring!
