Count @Deephaven in that too - he lives just across the lake from me. I'm south of Sioux Falls about 45 miles...looks like we are predicted to get 6-8inches between Tuesday and Wednesday. In a normal winter we get 33in...my buddy told me the other day we've already had over 40...one guy said 45. This should fill up the local river and ponds. 1 Quote

We have not recorded any measurable snow this entire month (we did have rain). I keep telling myself that too, the silver lining is that it all helps the drought in the long run. I ran my snow blower for a few minutes this afternoon just to make sure it’s ready to rumble. Quote

Northwest of me has had way more. Last month we had a storm drop 12ish on us...100 miles northwest they had 26. Quote

This model may be a bit on the generous side, but its very likely that a large swatch of the Midwest from Sioux Falls into the Great Lakes region will see significant snowfall, and the Twin Cities appears to be the bullseye. Latest outlook is for 16-22 inches for the Twin Cities Metro area. Batten down the hatches, boys, this is gonna be a whopper. 1 Quote

That one was such a pain in the....behind. Place I worked, we had scheduled a computer switch for that weekend...going from remote to local. I had to get into work everyday (I was the system tech/database admin/lead programmer/etc). Lake Minnetonka area to NE Minneapolis (my office windows looked out over the back 9 of the Columbia Heights golf course - building now houses Lucky Shots Pickleball Club) Driving a 1982 Dodge Mirada - 2-door, 6 cylinder, RWD sedan...passed so many 4WDs in the ditches, but made it into work and back home all 3 days without issue other than longer time. 1 Quote
Global Moderator 12poundbass Posted February 21, 2023 Global Moderator Posted February 21, 2023 Looking like freezing rain up to .25 inch and sleet for us Wednesday. Next county north is 6-10”. South of us is more freezing rain. Should be fun. Quote

Been fairly warm down here (now I’ve jinxed it) we had a decent snowfall in mid March last year. And the most snow we’ve had in most people’s lives was also mid March, 24” in 1993 Quote

They did that here too. And Thursday. And some already for Friday. Heck, let's just give em a 5 day weekend. Most districts have some type of e-learning in place now though. I got about 3-4 inches overnight and there is supposed to be a lull most of the day until round 2 tonight. Quote

Ya - that's about what I got by the lake...snow picking up after noon, but light until tonight when it dumps. "Tonight Snow. The snow could be heavy at times. Widespread blowing snow. Low around 14. Blustery, with a northeast wind 20 to 25 mph, with gusts as high as 40 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of 7 to 11 inches possible." Quote

Yup, the kids are off today and most likely tomorrow, depending on how bad the ice accumulation is possibly Friday. If they’re off two days in a row they do online learning. I’m home taking care of the wife after her surgery on Monday so we’re all home, one big family! ? 1 1 Quote
