Might have been a nuisance, but it sure did look pretty on the trees - taken yesterday morning.

Those are the times people conveniently forget when they get a hot day in the spring and say it went straight to summer

We're at 48 now and with the sun almost all the snow we got 2 days ago is gone.

Snow, hail, sleet, gropple, downpours, high winds, no wind, sunshine, and freezing temps up to 60 today.

Briefly started snowing while I was working outside today. But we’ll be back in the 80°s Friday. Can’t remember a spring with weather this strange. Got pike and bass making beds at the same time.

Last week we were seeing high temps in the upper 60's, 70's, and low 80's.  Yesterday the high temp was in the high 40's.  At least it keeps the bucket fishermen off of the water.

They salted the roads 1 time, never put the truck or Jeep in 4wd and never hooked up the plow all winter.

Not sure that's ever happened before here in north west VA.

There’s currently some snow falling high in the smokies between Knoxville and Asheville

Meanwhile in Minnesota

Thursday
A 20 percent chance of showers after 2pm. Sunny, with a high near 70. Southeast wind 5 to 10 mph.

Right now, plans are to get 'Bass Trek' on the water Thursday for two purposes.
1: Test the raising of the motor to see if planing is better and I get higher speed out of it
2: Crappies for the freezer - my local guy has been catching hoards of keeper crappies on Tonka the past week, and says with the warm up, it should get even better.

Wife and i going to baldhill dam on wednesday as 71+, 10 mph winds sunny. Smallies, walleye, muskie, pike, white bass........ its a smorgasbord of fish to catch.

Scheels last week only had crappie minnows so i will buy a scoop of them and bring a few packs of gulp live.

Will start out with search baits, cranks, lipless, a mimic minnow then throw some mooneye hair jigs and if wife is catching with the minnows i will have to go that route if i am failing at my approach.

Make sure you post some results @throttleplate.  The river catches you have lately are all over the place for species.  Is that the spot with the rocky shoreline?

It’s amusing to me because you guys never, ever truly get a real winter of any sort down there. All those “little winters” are just a nice spring day around here.

Precisely. And the first time it’s hot, they will say it skipped spring even tho it’s been spring for 4 straight months haha. This phenomenon is far more predictable than the weather itself

I will say, it’s supposed to be below zero with windchill tonight on mount leconte about 50 miles south of me. Nobody can live there but it’s proper winter for a long time up there

Stopped in at scheels today to check the minnow situation and all tanks are bone dry of water. Scheels told me they usually get minnows delivered on wednesdays but last wednesday the minnow man didnt show up. They dont know if he is coming this wednesday, GULP.

I called Wayzata Bait & Tackle today to see what they had. They informed me they had crappie minnows and waxies. That is all for live bait at the moment.
