Super User A-Jay Posted February 28, 2023 Super User Posted February 28, 2023 I just spent two hours and burned through a tank & a half of petrol cleaning up 10 inches of heart attack snow. But there are 3 maple trees out back . . . . . with buds ! I chit you not. A-Jay 2 Quote

Bass are spawning, had to go to my high end store yesterday to pick their brains, and they said no doubt the fish are spawning. My catch results have plummeted like a lead balloon. Pollen is terrible, buds and blooms everywhere, grass is greening up, haven't had a day in the 50s for weeks, overnight temps are in the mid 50s to mid 60s. I MISS WINTER SO MUCH ALREADY ? Winter is also my preferred fishing season, spring time is for amateurs…….. hahaha the good thing is, most people launch their boat once on the first pretty Saturday in may, then quit for the year 1 Quote

Super User gim Posted February 28, 2023 Super User Posted February 28, 2023 Another clipper system moves through the area tonight and tomorrow. The bulk of the snow is projected to drop over North Dakota and west-central MN. Twin Cities may see a couple inches or snow by tomorrow midday. Quote
Super User gim Posted February 28, 2023 Super User Posted February 28, 2023 Something else I also found this afternoon. Many areas around here have recorded their "wettest" meteorological winter on record (Dec - Feb, since 1893). Not necessarily just snowfall, but a combination of snow and rain/water equivalent this winter. Probably a good thing given that many areas were in major drought going into winter. Quote

Our school year has always gone to the end of June here. We’ve also had a ton of snow days, at least one every single week this winter, but they don’t add extra days on at the end. First week of June. They get 7 snow days a year, after that they add days to the year. Quote

He put a 4 foot tall heavy wall of snow in front of my driveway. That was the biggest plow wall i have ever seen in my lifetime. Another 45 minutes of fun. 1 1 Quote

Super User roadwarrior Posted March 2, 2023 Super User Posted March 2, 2023 Rain started around 4:00 PM yesterday. It kind of stopped at 7:00 this morning. Round 2 is forecast to start around 5:00 this afternoon. So far a little less than 3", but the heavy rain tonight might include hail and tornadoes. We're going to stay buckled up. 1 Quote

Super User gim Posted March 3, 2023 Super User Posted March 3, 2023 Winter (Dec-Feb) precipitation has been abundant. The green areas are the wettest on record (since 1895), and the dark blue areas are top 5 since 1895. Quite a large swath from Central California right to the Great Lakes. Quote
Super User NorcalBassin Posted March 4, 2023 Super User Posted March 4, 2023 Snowmageddon has kicked our butts out here. Day 5 of no power with at least a couple more days to go with 10-12" of additional snow forecasted for this weekend. Lost 4 big oaks, 2 fences from 2 of those oaks and a chicken coop. We love the snow but have are really ready for spring now! Never like scanning the yard and finding a horizontal tree... 1 Quote
