And 20 mph winds. No snow forecasted here, going to be all lake effect for you.

Grandson has been sick the last few weekends when it's been mild. Actually he's been sick for a month. Has RSV and as of last week ear infections in both ears. I was going to take him crappie fishing one last time. Providing he's well this Saturday, I don't think he's going to want to fish with the wind chill being 20*.

RSV is spreading like wildfire lately and everyone around here has been sick (thankfully not me).

I remember when Liam was a newborn the doctors were real concerned with RSV, considering he was a premie and his lungs were underdeveloped. He pretty much went nowhere the first 8-10 months.

I spent Saturday in the ER with grandma and her mother. Grandma has RSV and MIL has RSV and pneumonia.

lookin like fargo is going to get more rain/sleet than snow. I would prefer snow over rain.

That sheet of frozen rain will cause problems all winter long on sidewalks, driveways, parking lots....

We are looking at a heavy rain event from the remnants of Nicole here late tonight and tomorrow.  While I’ll gladly take that over snow/ice any day, it caused me to have to climb up on my roof earlier than planned to clear the leaves and fallen nuts from the roof and gutters.  I usually like to wait until all the leaves are down but the heavy rains will cause the gutters to overflow because they are full of leaves, acorns, hickory nuts, beech nuts and Japanese Magnolia seeds.  That overflow falls too close to the house foundation for my liking.  And before anybody recommends 20 different brands of gutter guards, just know I’ve been there and done that and had to pull them off.  I could write 3 pages on why they didn’t work.  The joys of living in the forest.  My wife is starting to get concerned since our house is built into the side of a cliff and a fall off the roof would be pretty serious.

Gutter guards just hide your issues as well as invite squirrels in

we got a very rare 4 days of rain.

sunny and cold today.  by cold I mean high 40's.  sweater weather for most of you here.  for me, it's batten down the hatches!!

I hope to be fishing tomorrow.  see what the cold fish are doing.  say hi.

you all that live in cold climates: do you just keep food in the garage to stay cold?  like you dont even need to keep beer in the fridge?

must be so nice to be able to cool down large stockpots of hot broth before storing in the fridge.  I have to use ice over here. :(

Funny you mention that, when my wife bakes ten thousand pounds of Christmas cookies etc. ( not that I’m complaining at all), she often uses the screened porch to cool everything off. Most Christmases, it’s usually cold enough that she just leaves them all out there for a week or two as we munch away at them, they stay froze pretty well out there on a table, and we just bring in some as needed, or when it’s time to package up a bunch to send off with friends/family.

Around here - if the fridge is in the un-insulated garage or the three-season porch, then you'd keep the beer in there so that it doesn't freeze solid and burst the can.
