Here is a comprehensive list of everything positive that can be said about bass fishing in Illinois:

1.

it’s been a couple weeks and I finally figured it out. If you can get on 90/94 either direction for 2hrs you’ll end up in WI or MI where it doesn’t suck.

honorable mention to the Lake Michigan smallies, but they’re hard and expensive to chase.

FLORIDA IS IN THE HOUSE !!!!

WE don’t have smallmouths , wall eyes or muskies, but other than that, WE GOOD…

Yeah but Peacocks, Snakeheads, Clowns and Cichlids are a nice side gig.

Here's what I love I about Maine: 1.3 and #1 in trees

Plus, we have a lot of ponds, bogs, lakes, and rivers. So, with fewer people and a lot of old folks and freshwater, you're less likely to have to share your fishing with other fishers. Much of the water has undeveloped shorelines and I'd much rather have trees as my backdrop than lake homes, which Mainers call camps.

All this adds up to quiet water with uneducated fish. Ahhhh!

Not much for bass fishing in Maine ?

I took a trip to Maine three years ago and caught my first northern pike along with many smallmouths and a couple of LM.  All with a kayak and a plastic worm.
