RHuff Posted October 12, 2022 Posted October 12, 2022 That you feel like you will truly catch fish on any time, any place you go onto a lake.. I have two really.. 1) Berkley General Maxscent 2) Berkley Frittside 5 Quote
detroit1 Posted October 12, 2022 Posted October 12, 2022 Don't have one. Or any , i should say. 1 Quote
Super User AlabamaSpothunter Posted October 12, 2022 Super User Posted October 12, 2022 Roboworm in 6" Fat or straight tail model Pick a color, doesn't matter. That said, if I want to give myself to blindly catch the biggest fish in a lake, I'm using a chatterbait. Those two are obviously my confidence baits so take that fwiw. Quote
Super User Darth-Baiter Posted October 12, 2022 Super User Posted October 12, 2022 anytime, any lake? nope. I have my lead off batters but sometimes they strike out ugly. 4 Quote

If I fished the same type places where there was several constants - maybe. I have a boat full of baits I 'feel' like I can catch fish with, but none that work for me all the time and or in every location. 3 ft to 30 ft - 40 degree water to 75 degree water. On a sand, rock, weed or silt bottom. Spring, summer & fall. Truely ? No A-Jay 4 Quote
Super User AlabamaSpothunter Posted October 12, 2022 Super User Posted October 12, 2022 OP is just basically asking what's your confidence bait to me, I think clarifying that might get you more answers with baits in the reply, however. 1 Quote

OK - I get it now. Got to be a jerkbait & a Vibrating Jig then for me. With honorable mention going to a Rage Bug on a Swing Head. A-Jay 1 Quote
PaulVE64 Posted October 12, 2022 Posted October 12, 2022 Dead drifting a senko, stripping a widderdiltch, and jigging a maribou hair jig. Quote

Super User scaleface Posted October 12, 2022 Super User Posted October 12, 2022 If the fishing is really tough I'll try picking apart cover with a Texas rigged something . I have been throwing a lot of Yum Dingers latley . Just Monday the bite was not happening and I ended up catching 8 by pitching to shallow wood on steep rocky banks . Quote
Super User Bankc Posted October 12, 2022 Super User Posted October 12, 2022 I got nothing. The Norman Fat Boy in chartreuse and black is my fallback when nothing else it working, along with a jig and Berkley Creature Hawg. But even those work less than half the time. Quote
Jmontgomery87 Posted October 12, 2022 Posted October 12, 2022 It doesn't always work but my fallback is either a Zoom trick worm on a Texas rig or a Zoom finesse worm on a shakey head or drop shot. 1 Quote
BayouSlide Posted October 12, 2022 Posted October 12, 2022 Still looking for that "magic" bait. ☹️ Quote
volzfan59 Posted October 12, 2022 Posted October 12, 2022 I can't name a specific bait. That said, no matter where I go, I always keep at least one crankbait tied on and I have the confidence that I'll catch them. 1 Quote
Super User Darth-Baiter Posted October 12, 2022 Super User Posted October 12, 2022 right before I lose all hope my Hail Mary is this. 1/8 bullet weight, a 1/0 worm hook, and a TRD finesse in Green pumpkin. it is my "oh Lord, please let me not skunk1" presentation to put at least one darn fish in the kayak. I can't count how many times that thing has saved my frail fishing ego. hahhaha.. 1 Quote
RHuff Posted October 12, 2022 Author Posted October 12, 2022 Thanks for clarifying what I meant...... Yes I just mean your complete confidence baits.... maybe I should have worded it differently.... my bad 1 Quote
Siebert Outdoors Posted October 12, 2022 Posted October 12, 2022 Here are the go to's for me. Sniper jig 5/16 Bama Craw with a Rage Baby Craw in Bama Craw Dredge Shaky head 1/4 with a Rage Menace or Zman Goat 1 Quote
Super User king fisher Posted October 12, 2022 Super User Posted October 12, 2022 Spinnerbait catches fish for me from top to bottom, slow or fast, through heavy cover, out in the open, fished around rock, wood, weeds, in heavy current, no current, wind no wind, sun, clouds, day or night. Other lures can work better for me, in specific conditions, but none work as well in all conditions. 3 Quote
FrnkNsteen Posted October 12, 2022 Posted October 12, 2022 The ones I have with me all the time are a Spinnerbait, Senko, and Chigger Craw or Rage Craw on a jig, or belly-weighted swim hook if I'm looking to downsize. Quote
Fishingmickey Posted October 12, 2022 Posted October 12, 2022 1/2 oz chartreuse spinner bait, Fat free shad crank bait in citrus, 3/16oz T-rigged 7" Pumpkin-seed Berkley power worm bit down to 6". 1/4oz jig head with a 3" smoke colored grub. FM 2 Quote

The 3/8th in Gizzard Shad has been killing it for me with the fall turnover and threadfin size. One of more under the radar baits for sure. It sells big time though so people just aren't talking about it openly. These are just dynamite baits. The snap needs to be changed on them, as they still pull the big fish like their bigger counterparts. Quote
