Started eating Cream of Wheat or Malt O Meal 55 years ago. I buy the chocolate flavor non sweetened, gonna have a bowl for lunch now.

My bowl is huge, its actually a tupperware container. I put 1/3 cup of wheat, 1 1/2 cup water with salt tossed in.

Put into micro wave for 2.30 minutes and cook, stir after 2.30 minutes to be sure the clumps are broken up and cook again for 2.30 minutes or untill it rises to almost overflow the bowl.

Take out and add 2 packs of fake nutra sweet sugar and add a cup of milk, stir and enjoy.

I make a savory oatmeal - Cook it with chicken or beef stock and a healthy dose of black pepper and a little salt and garlic. Add one patty of crumbled sausage (I like Neuse locally) and put a over easy egg on top. It will keep you full  for a while. I tell people it’s instant breakfast haggis.

I'm trying mine tomorrow morning with a beef boullion cube dropped in with the water and a couple of over-easy eggs on top.  I don't think I have any sausage on hand, but I'll be grocery shopping soon (if I hit the lottery!).

Crème of wheat?  Dang it’s been decades for me.   Just looked. There is no fiber in it.

I eat oatmeal every morning. Nothing fancy, about 2/3 cup of oats in milk warmed up in the microwave. Little bit of brown sugar sprinkled in and I'm good. On fishing trips, it's cold milk with brown sugar oatmeal packets. Gives me gas but that's the people in the back of my patrol cars problem.

I do one a day ever since my 40 something year old gastrointestinal doctor told me it was a magic elixir.  He said he drinks it himself.  I must admit the results are very impressive.

Takes a couple weeks, but yes it changes everything in the gut for the better.

I found a can of beef broth in the cupboard and used it to make my oatmeal this morning.  I added some small pieces of bacon and put three over-easy eggs on top.  It was good, but the saltiness soon overpowered the good taste for me.

I did get to understand the positive possibilities of savory style oatmeal and am happy to have learned about another preparation option.  ?

Quinoa used to be low cost healthy food for the masses in South America before hipsters found it and started putting it in everything, I ate so much as a kid, I hardly ate it as an adult, now I'm back to having it more often, off to goat yoga with my yogi, mmmmmmmm....

Think I’d just as soon stick with the oatmeal…

I occasionally eat the maple brown sugar Quaker oatmeal, I have been putting butter in it ( same for grits), but with  my new cholesterol issue , I reckon the butter days are over.

I have learned some good tips though on this thread !! ?
