I was just thinking about how jealous I was that I don't have the opportunity to shiver over a hole cut in the ice for hours on end.

You go right ahead and be jealous - while I stare at the ice covering my fishing spots and try to melt it away with the heat of my glare.

I've always wanted one of those Ice fishing shacks.......it's the most redneck thing I've seen up north ?

For whatever reason, the ski boat didn't go out in main lake and just went up and down the creek I was trying to fish

Must be a sizable "creek" if there's a ski boat in it lol.  When I think of a creek I think of something that is really only accessible by foot.

Some of these folks have epic shacks.....like seriously being in your living room watching football and fishing at the same time.    I could do that lol.

Lol I don't know anyone that does that anymore when they ice fish.  They sit inside either a portable insulated pop up with a heater, or they sit in a $25k ice castle with satellite TV like they're in a cabin.  This isn't the 1970's anymore.

Believe me, I've done it.  Its really not fishing.  You'd catch the same amount of fish and drink the same amount of beers in your own house.

Winters are a bummer for me in Mexico, no ice fishing.

Mexican ice fishing = Frozen margarita in one hand, fishing pole in the other?

Potable generators, satellite TV and Internet, bunks, full kitchen...you could live out there the entire winter, only leaving to pick up more fuel and eats.

Yeah...I see that.   I'm on a reservoir that has numerous 'arms', each named for the creek that feeds them.  The bends I was trying to fish are probably about 200' wide.

Me too. Our “creeks” up north are maybe knee deep. The biggest lake around me I think is around 400 acres. That’s a pond for the southern guys.

I’ll make you one heck of a deal. You buy my ‘06 G3 for $34k and I’ll deliver it to your front door for free. Then with the money I make off from it I’ll head to my local Lund dealer and pick up a new Renegade.

The two Garmins are not apart of the deal. If you want those add another $5k so I can add 10-12” Garmins on my Renegade.

If you’re interested I’ll go fill the truck up tonight after work and head out in the morning. ?

I priced one of those out in July and the cost almost gave me a cardiac.

I know. I build them and Vexus 2-3 times a year and have every year for the past few and keep seeing the price tag go up. It’s painful to see.

I’m on the opposite schedule, it’s about to get really really good from thanksgiving til valentines. Only hinderance is extended periods of darkness

October is perhaps the best month on the Tennessee River, but my biggest fish have

come in November and January!

Heck no!!! I enjoy the break that hard water allows. Nothing better than a hot cup of coffee, kitchen window view of the freezing landscape, and my laptop opened to all the tackle sites with multiple carts stocked ????

And so it begins in Murderapolis this morning. First time I get to scrape the Jeep. Might still get out a few times fishing this year, otherwise its "only" 214 days until the bass season opens here next Spring ?

The fishing is just getting good here again. The main thing that keeps me from freshwater fishing this time of year is saltwater fishing, and the occasional hunting trip…

Most of our “bad” cold fronts come in January/February. But it usually warms back up in 2-3 days…

The bass sometimes start bedding here in late december!

34 degrees when I launched this morning. I’ll be clearing ice out of my guides soon.
