Fogy Pro is the newest version of the Fogy.     The head is a  football jig head giving the bait more thump then many other blade  baits. The football head allows the bait to pull over limbs or rocks  without rolling to one side.  This drastically reduces hangups.  The Fogy Pro blade has a bend at the top of the blade.  This allows the bait to stay deeper on the retrieve.

Love the original Fogy, which is also a football head. You plan on bringing any out that doesn't have a football head?

I have the Tremor and the Tungsten Shakin Blade.

The tremor is great.  I don't fish as much pure rock, rather I have a bunch of grass here.  The tremor is my choice to get through it better.  great thump and startup.  The hooks are the best I've seen on any single hook moving bait.

Does the area on the blade that connects to the jighead rust like on Chatterbait models that have metal blades?

I can no problem.  Leave me a note on the order and I'll make them that way.

I've never heard of a complaint on this.  The split ring I use is an Owner Hyper Wire ring.  I dont know what a chatterbait is but I doubt its the same.

I'm not concerned about the split ring, I'm talking about the actually metal blades.   What happens as I'm sure you're aware of is that the action of the bait causes the jighead eye to slowly create a wear pattern, along with removing the finish where the blade attaches to the Jighead.

This area ends up getting surface rust after only a few good days of using it, and if you catch enough fish, and use the same one long enough......a big fish can and will break that smallest of amounts of metal right behind the Jighead to blade connection after being weakened by surface rust and repeated usage.   I hope this makes sense, not great at explaining it I'm sure.

I've never had anyone mention anything like this to me. The maker of that blade(bait) probably uses different materials. I've never experienced it or anyone that I fish with that throws these.  My blades are stainless which might also be a big difference.  The split ring is also a little bigger so the surface is more.  I know the blade can/will wear paint but I've never seen anything like the picture of that blade.   I've got some Fogys that have had a lot of use on them.

Excellent, I'm sure the fact you use Stainless Steel plays a role in it.    I didn't know this was possible until I had a fish pull free and only got back what I posted the pic of.

I'll try the Fogys out, as a blade bait has become easily my favorite one.    Your baits and skirts are dynamite looking.

Thanks a lot.  Now im going to have to go through all my blades and make sure none are defective.  Ive seen that happen with BPS kastmaster knock offs.  They didnt rust, but the hole was punched too close to edge of the spoon and eventually they break.

You should contact zman and see what they say about it.  I would guess its defective, because those blades are pliable.  I dont see how that tiny amount of material can hold up to the stress.

I would complain but I had caught at least 50 fish on that particular bait, the paint was half gone on the head, and the skirt was all but gone.    I actually had it "retired" but was in a spot I call "little vietnam" where pigs are, but it's 50/50 you get snagged or wrapped by a fish.    Hooked a big fish, wrapped me, and while I was trying to unwrap it, the weakest link using 15lb Fluorocarbon was that particular bit on the back of the blade.

Since then I looked at numerous ones I've been fishing with over the last weeks and months.....all had surface rust back behind the Jig head connection.   I don't own Jackhammers, and maybe this is why they cost much more, but in the ZMAN weedless, Zman non weedless, MiniMax, Original, all of them do it.    The only ones that don't are the ones with silver blades which I assume is stainless steel.   For example the Flashback Mini doesn't rust, but a gold bladed MiniMax will.

Guess it's the material to some degree.

I’ve got some 3/4 and 1 oz Tremors I’m working on but nothing that big.

OOOH!  With the standard blade and hook (just a bigger head)?  Coming before spring?

Yes, I have them now and I need to see how they run.  I'm hoping not anywhere close to that.

Sounds great.  Keep us posted and I'll pop an order in when they are up.

I checked every one of my chatterbaits and I dont have any with rust issues.  There is some discoloration, but nothing that looks serious.   It does look like 2 or 3 out of about 15 have the hole punched closer to the edge of the blade then I would like.  The majority of my chatterbaits are the TW customs with a nickel or dark blade.
