Had this happen to me twice. Once it was bad floro line. Second was some tungsten weights that were not smooth inside. I only use a palomar knot and have been fishing texas  rigged baits for over 15 years with floro.

I've never heard of the weight breaking the line...or at least it's never happened to me in all the years I've been fishing, but then again, I quit using fluoro because it's garbage.

The early tungsten bullet weight had sharp hole edges and using small 1/16 dia tubing was standard procedure. 

Aaron Martens made a video showing how to do this.

FC isn’t garbage it’s just not as forgiving as premium mono.

I runs texas rigs on 14 or 16lb FC Sniper line with Woo or Swagger tungsten. I've never broken off on a hook set. I use an Orvis knot.
