clemsondds Posted September 30, 2022 Posted September 30, 2022 I’m trying to condense how I carry my soft plastics on my boat. I have to keep my boat in storage and don’t trust the security so I don’t leave anything on my boat. I’ve been carrying two large kvd bags but they have started to look a little rough and so I picked up one of those Zman bags. I am going to try to keep these particular things in this bag: ig trailers (winter/summer…) : this is my biggest mix of rage craws, chunks, jr chunks, netbait paca, speed craws, rage bugs, yamamoto cowboy, twin tail grubs, and then several for finesse jigs... -Chatterbait/swim jig trailers: rage menace, sk zcraw/jr, xzone... -Creature/ flipping baits beavers :reaction innovations, rage bug, rodent, gb bandito bug, various craws... -drop shot baits: lots of roboworm, missile, dreamshot, zman trick... I noticed that I have tons of each one of these. I am going to try to keep one or maybe two brands of each category and that’s it. So what’s your go to for each of those? If you could only carry one bag with a few colors of each soft plastic, which would you choose? 1 Quote
Super User J Francho Posted September 30, 2022 Super User Posted September 30, 2022 Here's the plastics I buy the most of: Ragetail Craw Ragetail Menace GYCB 5" Senko Jackall 4.8 Flick Shake Worms Jackall Cross Tail Shad 3 Quote
Super User scaleface Posted September 30, 2022 Super User Posted September 30, 2022 I like Yum Dingers because they weigh more than traditional worms ,making them easier to pitch and a lot less expensive than senkos. Also I can then use the torn up ones as Ned baits . As far as casting I'm not picky . Jelly worms , trick worms , generic worms... bass bite them all .Throw in some tubes and I'm pretty much set . 1 Quote
Super User Darth-Baiter Posted September 30, 2022 Super User Posted September 30, 2022 GY Senkos. color 925. Zoom - Z-drops, lizards, and small brush hogs, trick worms, and the 8" ribbon tail. Zman - Palmetto bugs, finesse TRD, large TRD, Fatty Z. those are my main dishes. Quote
Super User Mobasser Posted September 30, 2022 Super User Posted September 30, 2022 I use a mix of stuff. Zoom, Slider, Yamamoto, Roboworm. Zoom is always available so I use them the most. Quote
Super User Spankey Posted September 30, 2022 Super User Posted September 30, 2022 I use a mix also. But I use more Berkley and RoboWorm plastics. I’m more of a crankbait fanatic but love using soft plastics. Quote
Super User JustJames Posted September 30, 2022 Super User Posted September 30, 2022 Roboworm 6” fat you can use this for many techniques, dropshot, weightless, weight Texas rig, Neko and shakey head. Rage craw Jig/swim jig trailer, chatterbait trailer, flipping/pitching. Senko/Fatika when the bite get tough. Now you can call yourself “minimalist” ??? 1 Quote

I couldn't pick a favorite between the three types, but there is nothing close to them in my book. A 6" on a shakey head will keep you skunk free. Quote

CM-fisher Posted September 30, 2022 Posted September 30, 2022 Yamamoto senko, yum dingers, rage menace, roboworms, zoom finesse worms, TRD's, and rage swimmers are about all I need. I keep about 2-3 colors of each (usually grn pumpkin and black/blue) Quote

RB 77 Posted September 30, 2022 Posted September 30, 2022 I'm a worm dragger and could get away with just a few types of baits to be honest... 6" straight worm 6" Stik worm 6" Lizard Compact creature (think BBH) 5" Fluke Craw type trailer Of course I have and fish way more options than these, but I feel like I could get it done with just these. As far as colors go, just as simple... Watermelon Pumpkin Green Pumpkin Junebug Black Shad Again, I have and use a ton of colors, but can get it done with just a few. Quote
Big Hands Posted September 30, 2022 Posted September 30, 2022 I have one 3700 regular box, a 3700 thick box which also holds my shakey heads, ned heads, and swimbait jig heads along with the plastics), and one side pouch on my tackle satchel that I keep plastics in, and that's it. And, to let you know how much I fish plastics, EVERY bass I caught in 2021 (and I average close to once a week fishing) was caught on plastics. I do have a one quart size ziplock bag with plastics I usually only throw at night, that I will put in the boat for the four or five nights we're allowed to fish here, but it resides in the garage the rest of the time. I have one 3700 box for crankbaits, and another 3700 box for terminal tackle and a few slabs. All of that fits in my satchel along with leader line, scissors, various pliers, a scale, license, sunglasses, and scent. The majority of the plastics I take are Senkos, Keitech Easy Shiners and Swing Impacts, various Roboworms, Jackall Flick-Shakes, C3 Shimmy's (a local product), and a few other assorted oddball offerings and it all fits in this bag. If I can't catch fish with my what's in my tackle bag, three to five rods, and a landing net, I need to go home and make better choices next time. Quote
Super User bowhunter63 Posted September 30, 2022 Super User Posted September 30, 2022 Anything Rage Tail, Zoom or Power Bait. Wacky worming i use several different makes of stick worms. Plus i hit the sale bin at Bass Pro Shops Quote
Super User Columbia Craw Posted October 1, 2022 Super User Posted October 1, 2022 There was a recent thread asking what rod , if broken, would you immediately replace? So with that context, if I ran out of a plastic bait, omitting colors, what will I be replacing? Rage Bug Rage Space Monkey Rage Craw Rage Ned Craw KVD Finesse worm Robo Worm Fat Zoom Trick Worm Zoom Super Chunk Zoom Brush Hogs GYB Senko GYB Zako BBB Swimmon Hog Farmer Spunk Shad Berkely Flat Worm RI Man Bear Pig These, for me, are must haves. Quote
Super User Catt Posted October 1, 2022 Super User Posted October 1, 2022 Like everyone I to have a nice variety. I could easily go 100% Zoom & not lose any productivity. This is what I carry boat or bank. The first three are worms; stick, straight tail, curl tail, ribbontail. Next one is craw worms Next one is creatures & lizards Next one is beaver tails & bugs Next one is frogs 2 Quote

But I meant in the boat...the bait monkey can wreak havoc in my garage with the tackle I keep in there. But what I am trying to do is make my decisions more simple when I am on the boat...I am trying to simplify so that I'm not staring at 3 different craw trailers that each. have 3 different colors. Just kindof want to settle on one brand to carry for each category. So that's what I was trying to figure out...must not have worded it to well ha. But of those categories, what's your top trailer/pick to carry with you? 1 Quote
clemsondds Posted October 2, 2022 Author Posted October 2, 2022 Ok I guess throw out worms from the question bc there's no way I would go with just one. Really I'm just curious what everyone's main/if you could just have one: jig summer trailer jig winter trailer swim jig trailer chatterbait trailer flipping bait Quote
Super User Bankbeater Posted October 2, 2022 Super User Posted October 2, 2022 I carry a little of everything because around here you never know what those bass will be hitting. Creatures and craws Jigs Stick worms in different lengths Brush Hogs Finesse Worms Jig / Chatterbait trailers Quote
