Chris186 Posted September 27, 2022 Posted September 27, 2022 Anyone had a chance to check these out yet? They look cool but $349 seems steep for a Lews rod, especially since the Pro TI didn’t seem like a hit. I like Lews for moving baits but not sure how they are for bottoms contact.o Quote
Super User dodgeguy Posted September 27, 2022 Super User Posted September 27, 2022 rod snobs dont like lews. i personally dont like the grips and prefer cork. seems like a fine rod if you like the grips. Quote
QED Posted September 27, 2022 Posted September 27, 2022 Nice to see Lew's make products farther into the high end, but doesn't seem the pre-announced products are available yet. Quote

Super User FishTank Posted September 28, 2022 Super User Posted September 28, 2022 Not yet. 12/12. I will take a hard pass on these rods. I wouldn't pass judgment on something like this until I held it in my hand but the grip is just a bad idea. My guess is that it will be on clearance for $250 or less before long just like their other higher end rod offerings. 1 Quote
suzuki2903 Posted September 28, 2022 Posted September 28, 2022 Winn grips are a love or hate thing it seems . I prefer them! Should be interesting how these new rods actually are when they’re available to purchase and get some real word feedback. If they went on sale I’d grab one for sure. 1 Quote

At first I didn’t like them, the used to rub the pointer finger on my casting hand and create a blister. However, that was a different brand, I don’t seem to have that issue with the Lews grips. Now that I have been using the Lews grips for a while I’m actually starting to prefer them myself, although I do still like cork. 1 Quote

The new Lew's line doesn't have rods or reels in the UL spinning or BFS casting range, so I think I'll pass on being an early adopter of the new elite series. BTW, I have a Lew’s Pro-Ti 68M casting rod which is a fine rod but it isn't especially outstanding at anything. Quote
KP Duty Posted September 28, 2022 Posted September 28, 2022 Carbon fiber grip? Looks good to me. I'll stick to my favorites, but lews fans should give it a go (with 20% or more off) Quote

Super User NYWayfarer Posted September 28, 2022 Super User Posted September 28, 2022 I used to love the Winn Grips until they got filthy and started peeling at the edges. It’s cork for me. Lew’s only has a few cork rods in their lineup. The Laser SG1 has a nice cork grip and is very inexpensive. Quote

I was just looking at the Lew's rods on TW and thinking that the Laser SG1 is actually a decent looking rod, aesthetically speaking. I can't really say the same for most of the rest of their rod line up. The Winn grips and use of skeleton seats would keep me from ever buying one of their higher end rods. 1 Quote

Andy J. H Posted January 20 Posted January 20 I have the medium lite spinning rod and have not felt a better rod in my hand. I usually go with cork grips and prefer them but this grip is not that hard rubber that are on other Lews like the Pro-Ti, Signature, and many others. It is soft and very comfortable, I’d buy this over any other lews rod and I own a lot of them. I just bought it in a 7’ med fast casting and am sure I’ll like it just as much. Quote
