Am I missing something or are Nikko lures literally impossible to rig

Fell for the Nikko meme because NDYakAngler and Richard Gene both shill for them. Bought some Hellgramites, Leeches, ribbed swimbaits, and little shad-shaped swimbaits and the things are so tough I can't get them on anything. The Hellgramites and Leeches will go on ned heads with some encouragement. But I can't get either of the swimbaits to go on anything: ballheads, EWGs, Twistloks, swimjigs.

Like can’t get the hook point through?

 

I’ve never used them, but assumed they were like Zman. Normally can’t use a molded lead kind of keeper, needs to be more of a barb style

I’ve also never had any but you can modify your jig heads with pliers to make things fit easier. Just snip off little pieces of lead to shape it how you want
