Drew03cmc Posted September 25, 2022 Posted September 25, 2022 I like to throw a 3.3 on a bare, ball jighead. I have one I really like, 1/8oz, looks to be a 1/0 or 2/0 hook, but I can't find them locally anymore. I bought 2 packs of the Missile Nedballs today and, while they seem like they'll work, they're pricey. I'm curious what you all do. Would the 1/0 Flashy swimmer work well on the 3.3? Quote

SproDD79 Posted September 25, 2022 Posted September 25, 2022 Take a look at these, I really like them for all different size Kietechs https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Berkley_Fusion19_Swimbait_Jig_Heads_3pk/descpage-FNSW.html Quote
Revival Posted September 25, 2022 Posted September 25, 2022 I use Dirty Jigs guppy heads which are 1/0. I also use Gamakatsu round jigheads which are 1/0-2/0 depending on the weight. Amazon has some decent cheaper bulk options but some of the hooks werent as sharp as I would like it to be. I had to touch them up. 1 Quote

It's a great combo... but I've found I lose a lot of tails on 3.3" Keitechs. I think it's from perch grabbing them. Doesn't happen when I fish larger (3.8 and above) paddletails. Quote
GetFishorDieTryin Posted September 27, 2022 Posted September 27, 2022 As far as plain ball head the Gami round jig head is tough to beat. I use the 1/0 for 2.8 and 3.3s I really like Hayabusas Brush easy heads for lighter weight ned rigs and swimbaits. Quote
Deebo Posted September 27, 2022 Posted September 27, 2022 Another vote for the gamakatsu ball heads. I just use the do it mold for them. I like using a 2/0 hook in a 3/8 and 1/2 oz head size, which most don't seem to sell. Hooks were in the .40ish cent range per Quote
Super User fishballer06 Posted September 27, 2022 Super User Posted September 27, 2022 https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Gamakatsu_Round_Jig_Head_5pk/descpage-GRJH.html I like the 3/16 in 2/0 myself. But yes, another vote for the Gami heads. Owner makes one similar as well. https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Owner_Round_Head_with_Lockdown_Keeper_5pk/descpage-ORHL.html 1 Quote

I like to use these with diesel minnows and trout tricks, the keeper works really well with elaztech. The cost is the drawback. Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted September 29, 2022 Global Moderator Posted September 29, 2022 I pour my own Ned heads with a 1/0 hook for smaller Keitechs. Works really well with the 2.8's. Quote
