My favorite right now is a no longer available 6'9" ML Fenwick Elitetech Smallmouth.

It works great for weightless plastics, especially wacky senkos, but also weightless tubes up shallow around docks and laydowns.

I wish I'd picked up more Smallmouth rods.  Great rods for the money.  I have the 6'9" M-EF in both spinning and baitcast, but my favorite that I've actually spent time fishing with is the 6'10" MF casting rod.

I picked up some spinning rods after I got back into fishing, but that was when I tried my first low profile baitcast reel and I like them so well that the spinning rods don't get used.  Something I'd like to change once I get to fish a bit more.  If I'm just going out for a short time, I want a baitcaster or two.

I broke my Megabass X-Bites a couple of days ago. I'm looking for a new t-rig rod to replace it. I loved aspects of the rod but not enough to buy another.

I would definitely buy another Poison Adrena 7'3" MH and my OG Tatula 7'2" MHRF. I also have several customs that would be hard to replace. Most everything else could be replaced with a different rod.

Ebay.

Sorry but a used rod ain't something I wanna buy. There can be damage unseen to the naked eye.

True concern.  But if buying from a reputable seller then that risk is mitigated somewhat.

My most recent rod I've only had for a week....the Alpha Angler Chatterbound.   I'm not a huge technique specific kinda guy, but for chatterbaits, this rod is an essential tool.   The performance wow'd me unlike any other rod I've owned, including Loomis GLXs and Steez AGSs.

Was it the seller's rod?

If not can he verify it was never abused?

Mine were second generation

I can feel into the future with my Megabass 7'5" Braillist. So it'd be replaced immediately if it was broken.

Daiwa Rebellion 7ft ML spinning,  absolutely amazing finesse/neko rod. As a matter a fact I have one in my daily rotation and 2 in storage ,just in case. I have far more expensive spinning rods, yet I gravitate towards this rod constantly.

I have the 6'8" 2 piece Rebellion and it is something special. Also picked up the 6'10" MH-R casting, that thing does everything I can ask of it.

Those fenwick elite tech Smallmouth are really nice. I have the 6'10" M-F casting 2 piece and love it. Been looking for the ML-F spinning model, but no luck finding one yet.

Give this thread a read as it kind of documents my journey to finding the rod, never even heard of Alpha Angler a month ago, now I intend to buy a couple more rods from them.

Since that thread has been updated, I already received my new rod from them with prepaid shipping label for old rod.    New rod was perfect.

The rod itself was a gamechanger for me, but to see how the company handled my issue really gave me confidence in the company going forward and recommending them to friends.

I went from missing well over half the bites I had the chatterbait using existing rods I had, to now catching 90% of them.    Caught a pig a few days ago that paid for the rod already ?

It’s discontinued, but my Fenwick Aetos 7’ MH-F. An amazing worm & jig rod, and a delight to fish with.

I have one still in the plastic just in case something happens to the one I use. Brian.

been fishing with a berkley 7' medium cherrywood for the last 3 weeks. For its cheap price i have caught muskie, bass, walleye and it now ranks as my favorite rod and would buy another if broken by me or it broke somehow on its own.

My Kistler KLXTCRWJ70MH.  It’s a 7’ MH/F that just feels ‘right’ with any bait I’ve put on it.

My favourite would be my ALX Zolo 7'5" SpeedFury Medium Light + Fast Action. I spent a week at Loskop Dam in South Africa and every single fish I caught came out on this rod (not from a lack of trying other patterns and other rods). Also holds my Smallmouth personal best from Clanwilliam Dam as well (also hear in South Africa). I did once lose my favourite crank-bait rod a Powell Max 703 CB Medium Heavy Moderate Fast Glass and I replaced that in a heartbeat and now have 2.

7' MHF SC LE blank made into a 7'10" rod.  I may have it kicked out to a full 8' now if it broke and I had it remade.  I used to only have 8' rod lockers so 7'10" was a safer fit.

Diawa Ardito.  I recently lost a medium, and a medium heavy Ardito over board.  I upgraded reels, but replaced the rods with the same same ones I lost.  Difficulty with getting full length rods to Mexico was one reason, but I would probably use them even if I had a boat and lived in the States.

That’s great. I wish I had a reserve Aetos. Haven’t been able to find any used either. Same with the Fenwick Methods. Fenwick seems to like discontinuing great sticks.

NOT including the myriad of Dobyns rods i have had the factory replace (for a fee)...there is one.

my Phenix Maxim Spinning.  i immediatly bought a new one when i sank mine into deep wintery waters.  not expensive at all, but i love the thing.  and it isnt even good looking.  but dang, have i caught a lot of bass on that rod.

It would probably be my Falcon expert head turner.  I never leave home without that rod to the point that if I were in a boat and could carry a couple more rods I'd own a second one.  It does well with so many of the things I like to fish, and I often like to have two of those things on at a time (spinnerbait, chatterbait, swim jig all go on this rod).  I might replace it with the Cara version instead of the expert, but that's splitting hairs.

I think my new Cara Heavy cover jig will fit this bill also, but I've only fished it twice so far so its too early to say.  That said, three Head turners and two HCJs would make for a pretty complete set of rods.

I keep a M/F casting Ardito under my truck’s back seat for quick stops.  They’re great rods.
