Super User Bankbeater Posted September 26, 2022 Super User Posted September 26, 2022 St. Croix Premier. I have 2 casting and 1 spinning. Quote
Chris186 Posted September 27, 2022 Posted September 27, 2022 Interesting thread, I don’t think I have found that rod yet. I have owned a lot of different makes like Megabass, Shimano, St Croix, Duckett, Lews, Bass Pro brand, I have an original Carrot Stick, Powell and I’m sure a few more I am missing. But I can’t say for sure any of them have given me that “I must have another if this breaks” feeling, especially with so many other companies to try. I have always wanted to try Cashion rods, I think of anything I have now breaks I may pick up one of them. 2 Quote

As a matter a fact I have one in my daily rotation and 2 in storage ,just in case. I have far more expensive spinning rods, yet I gravitate towards this rod constantly. I have this rod and love it . Drop shot, light Texas rigs, wacky rig, slider, it works great sensitive. Quote
Skunkmaster-k Posted September 27, 2022 Posted September 27, 2022 Berkeley Lightning rod. I know it’s cheap but I love that thing. 2 Quote
JMac603 Posted September 27, 2022 Posted September 27, 2022 My TFO 6'6" Medium Professional Series. I throw tubes on it with regular ol trilene xl 8lb. This combo is just perfect for tubes for me. Quote

Triptych Posted September 27, 2022 Posted September 27, 2022 Megabass 6'9" P5 Super Destroyer. It does everything I need it to. It has amazing balance, it is sensitive, it's comfortable in my hand. I mainly use it with a keel weighted keitech, and it has done an awesome job of keeping them pinned with enough power to horse them in, so it will stay that way. I am not afraid to throw my keitech in the thickest of cover because I know I will get a good hookset and be able to horse any fish out. 1 Quote
Super User LrgmouthShad Posted September 27, 2022 Super User Posted September 27, 2022 Would replace all mine because warranty/replacement is nice. iRod Lone Star Special, iRod 704C, Falcon Head Turner. All great rods that I really love and probably the ones I use the most Quote

Kyle S Posted September 28, 2022 Posted September 28, 2022 I've got a couple that I would immediately replace if something happened... Shimano Sensilite 6'-6" UL. Lew's TP1 Black 6'-10" MH Moderate fast Shimano Clarus 7' Light Also a HUGE fan of The Lew's Hank Parker casting rods. They only sell 2 casting models I believe. I probably own 4 or 5 of them. Quote
Super User TOXIC Posted September 28, 2022 Super User Posted September 28, 2022 CastAway Skeleton in both casting and spinning. Problem is that these rods are so tough, they never break and are super sensitive. Quote

I assume its a jig and texas rig rod for you? I have the expert standard amistad and run braid. Great rod for 3/8 plus rubber and up or even better with a half ounce. I don't fish much that needs much heavier though, hence not getting the XH. I've read/heard that the XH and fluoro/mono runs close to the regular and braid for feel and power. Quote
Texas Flood Posted September 28, 2022 Posted September 28, 2022 Shimano Clarus 6'8" St Croix Victory 7'3"(even though I havent had it for very long, Its better than any rod Ive had before) Quote
Super User gim Posted September 28, 2022 Super User Posted September 28, 2022 I like all three of my St Croix Mojo rods equally. Quote
Super User NorthernBasser Posted September 28, 2022 Super User Posted September 28, 2022 I should probably say one of my Expride's, or Kistler's, or Megabass. But the truth is the 2 rods that I have that I'm head over heels for is my Dobyns Sierra 734 (micro guides) and Powell Naked 734. The Powell Naked is a newer rod. You can only get a few models right now, but I talked to a Powell rep the other day and he said more models will be coming in the next few months and more readily available on other sites. I've been using mine (7'3 H/F) for swim jigs on straight braid. The rod is super light and quite sensitive. Everything about it just feels right. I'll be getting more models for sure. And everyone knows about the 734 Sierra by now. Another rod that just feels right and is fun to fish. Quote
Super User N Florida Mike Posted September 28, 2022 Super User Posted September 28, 2022 Some of y’all will shake your heads at this , but it’s my 25 year old or so 6.6 medium Ugly stik. Ive caught more bass on it than any other. All I’ve done to it is put one new guide on it and super glue the tip down on it because it was loose. They truly are durable rods. It wouldnt be too much of a sacrifice even for me because they are only around 40 bucks… 1 Quote
TheBaitMonkey Posted September 29, 2022 Posted September 29, 2022 Of all the rods I own I think the only one I for sure would replace is my Megabass Orochi EMTF. I’ve used a lot of cranking rods and this one has that “it” factor to me. Plus I caught my PB with it so that gives it bonus points. 1 Quote
clh121787 Posted September 29, 2022 Posted September 29, 2022 I stick with rods that have good return policies for this reason. Dobyns has excellent customer service. And local. Quote

Way north bass guy Posted September 29, 2022 Posted September 29, 2022 I have one in my arsenal of many rods that if it breaks is gonna be a sad day. Not even an expensive one either but it’s by far my favourite for the job. It’s a Berkley Lightning Hank Parker signature series rod that’s about 20 years old. MH I believe, 7’ long and is in my opinion the best rod I’ve ever tied a big double willow spinnerbait to for big smallmouth. Perfect backbone, bit of tip flex and right length to cast a mile in gin clear water. 1 Quote
Beam Posted September 29, 2022 Posted September 29, 2022 Quantum EXO Tour casting rods. I would buy more if I could find them. Quote
Super User Boomstick Posted September 29, 2022 Super User Posted September 29, 2022 Hard choice. I really like my Steez AGS Bottom Contact rod, but I'd like it more if it was 6'10" with the same power and action (but I manage with longer rods too). If not that rod, my Tatula Elite 7' M/F, the Brent Ehrler dropshot rod. That basically throws everything I can throw on a spinning setup and the this year was very productive for me. 1 Quote
