Super User Mobasser Posted September 20, 2022 Super User Posted September 20, 2022 I guess maybe there are some benefits to getting older. I'll turn 65 next month. Once you turn 65, Missouri doesn't require that you have a fishing license. I will need a tag if I go trout fishing this winter, but I think it's around 8 dollars. I've bought a fishing license every year since I think I was 18. Hard to believe I don't need a fishing license after next month. Hope everyone is ready for October. Sometimes, it can be a great month for fishing. 20 Quote
Super User Solution Dwight Hottle Posted September 20, 2022 Super User Solution Posted September 20, 2022 Welcome to the club. Florida gives residents a lifetime license for both fishing & hunting at the age of 65. Finally a little perk for all those years of financial support. 8 Quote
Super User islandbass Posted September 20, 2022 Super User Posted September 20, 2022 Congratulations on such a milestone! And Thank goodness you don’t live in WA state. You’d still be paying full price until 70! No joke. You not a senior in their eyes until then. Only at 70 can you take advantage of the “senior” fee for the rest of your life. ? 1 Quote
Super User scaleface Posted September 20, 2022 Super User Posted September 20, 2022 I made it there this year also . When I was a kid My parents always gave me a hunting/fishing license for Christmas . 5 Quote
Captain Phil Posted September 20, 2022 Posted September 20, 2022 Bought my first Florida fishing licence when I was 16, stopped buying them when I turned 65. Ten years of no license so far. Wonder if I will ever break even? ? 3 5 Quote

Skunkmaster-k Posted September 20, 2022 Posted September 20, 2022 65 and older still have to have a license in Texas , unless they were born before 1931. Dad usually gets the super combo and I think it’s around 35$. Quote

Super User AlabamaSpothunter Posted September 20, 2022 Super User Posted September 20, 2022 Just when you think they can't find a more ridiculous way to shake you down for more of your hard earned money. 90 years old....give me a break, what a joke. I can't remember the last time I saw a 90 year old on the water or the woods. Talk about money hungry. 3 Quote
Super User Catt Posted September 20, 2022 Super User Posted September 20, 2022 Louisiana 82 ? There's one exception, if you were born between 1940-1962 you pay $5.00 for everything except Federal Duck Stamps or Deer Tags. I fall in this category. 3 Quote

I don't understand how any rational person could think that rule was a good idea. I clicked that link and found out the regulations are almost 100 pages long too! Holy cow. Quote
Super User WRB Posted September 20, 2022 Super User Posted September 20, 2022 California isn’t license friendly to any age group $54 resident annual that expires 31 December regardless when purchased. Lifetime license is now available for various ages groups, 62 and over is $594 as I recall, break even if you live another 10 years. Tom 2 1 Quote
