Crazy striping, Dwight. Keep that fish away from tigers lest they too turn jelly.

An almost 4lb fish out of a creek in urban Charlotte I could walk across and not get my shorts wet. Looked like it came out of a painting.

also happens to be the big fish of 2022 (5lb12oz) and a poor quality selfie but easily the prettiest fish I've had all year. My guitar player booked us a guide for the first week of october which is exciting. hoping to get a new PB either for the year or overall...we will see lol. Would need to break 7lb for a new LMB PB.

Why did you carry a painted skin mount out onto the water just for a picture though?  Seems like a lot of effort.

Unless she has died from old age she is still swimming.

yeah, i know that already.  I stalk your erie posts like everyone else on here does (I'm from just south of Pittsburgh originally and lived in Cleveland for a year too).  The color on that fish though is textbook.  I've seen quite a few mounts that were painted like that and thought no way was that a realistic paint job.  From the eye barring, the perfect shading from dark to light, and the little bit of interest on the sides with the rusty color. Probably the pretties fish in this thread.

Shame its disqualified for being too big...

I'll go with this one. Biggest so far this year at 5-4, and just a beautiful specimen. Fat, healthy, and beautifully colored.

Not my biggest. But in my opinion, the best proportioned bass of the year.  Healthy and fat.   Good colors send patterns.

That one looks like it has a very steady diet too!

Mine is probably this blemish-free beauty. 4lb 13oz, 20.5”. Not a mark on her, and very memorable strike on a spinnerbait. And the look of admiration on my face ?

I’ve gotten some very nicely colored smallmouth this year that I wish I had gotten pictures of, including one that was solid black. Slipped out of my hands over the side of the boat before I could take a pic.

That fish is 5 plus . At that length under 5 would look skinny. Your scale is off. Nice fish.

Hope you’re right. I’ve long suspected it weighs a little under. Guess I should test it.

How did I miss this thread? What a bunch of gorgeous fish. Those smallies have me itching to pack my bags and hit the road up north.

This one here just barely cracks the top 10 in size for the year, but I think it's #1 for pattern. Caught it February 16th on a jerkbait (what else?) right at dusk, came in at 5lb 5oz. Pretty average proportions, but the pattern was very striking in person.

Just two feet and a fishing rod says a lot for bank fishing. Gonna be doing more of it this year!

Ironically my two biggest LGM bass have come from the bank, including my biggest this year an 8lber.

That's a real hawg there.  You don't need a boat to catch big Bass that's for sure.

I hear ya. I've gotten some incredible fish from the bank. Just park and fish. Luv it, the simplicity and ease. If you think about it, most on the water cast at the bank anyway lol
