Fair enough, that is one way of looking at it. There is nothing you would have a hard time letting go off?

But old can also be gold at times ?

Nope.  Not a thing.  I guess that came from my father.  If he could make a profit, it got sold.  He sold homes and businesses and moved 52 times in 35 years.

I have 11 Simplicity garden tractors from the 70s and 80s. I actually do use them all to move snow, mow grass, till the garden etc. A few of them are parts machines, some I bought because they came with implements that I needed.

This one is my dirt plow/tow pig.

I've recently started building model cars again. I built them from childhood up until I was in my early 30's. My mother in law got me one for Christmas and kinda kick started the hobby for me. I've been collecting  some out of production kits to build this winter. I'll need to get some paint and glue. Thankfully I kept my modelling tools

Welcome back to the dark side.

I do models off and on - Sci-Fi more than anything else, but also warships and 'X-Planes'...have a SR-71, YF-12 and XB-70 in the 'to be built' stack.

Best glue for modern models - Tamiya Extra Thin or Plastruct Bondene (the one I use).

I'm a bit of a gear head. I've bought some old drag cars, NASCAR and ASA/ late model models. There are no hobby shops near me, so I'll look into ordering the glues you mentioned. I have a Hobby Lobby about 45 miles away but they don't carry Tamiya or Plastruct glues.

I used to build model cars and planes every weekend I went to my dads. I’ve still got a lot of the cars we built on display in my man cave. None of the planes survived all the moves I had growing up but the cars were all wrapped in news paper and in a tote most made it. Last week while at Walmart I saw they had a few models again so I picked up a ‘69 charger to do. Models and the supplies went way up in price from what it was 25 years ago when my father and I did them.

So as far as collecting goes I do collect models as well. I’ve got a bunch of knifes my grandmother bought me for my birthday every year since I collected the ones with wolf or bear heads and murals on the handles I think they were Franklin mints I think but maybe not idk. Then there’s my gun collection. When going through some boxes my mom dropped off when she was cleaning out her apartment I found my old stamp collection.

Kinda miss that smell of Testor's. Remember the almost invisible spider webs that would land on something clear?

I paint jigs with it on occasion. Really scratches that itch.

Whiskey.....I like the taste of them, and I like to try variety but it takes me a few weeks to finish off a bottle. So they just accumulate over time, but I share a lot of it with friends/neighbors so I keep buying more!

What the heck happened to the 1970 coronet models? There used to be 3 different versions made within the last 5 yrs., and now you can't find one. If anyone out there has an unbuilt one, i will buy it.

not seen any collect rebel baits but very fond of them. One model was very popular with locals back when I lived in Oman. The locals would take the hooks off, twist the eyelets and run a wire through them to a trebble on the back so it would freely move along the wire leader and then troll them for big spanish mackerel.

Love the collection, cheers for sharing

I used to collect basketball and baseball cards and have been buying my son a complete set every year since he was born that he is not allowed to even open.

I do need to check some of the basketball ones though as I know they are pretty valuable.

Comic books.

My mom bought me my first comic book before I could read. I would look at the pictures and one day I asked her what the white balloons were in every panel. She told me that’s words in there the characters are talking to each other. I asked her to read them to me day after day. She eventually got some flash cards and taught me how to read. That was before kindergarten for me.

I have bought comics ever since.

My wife and I will watch a show like Pawn Stars and someone comes in to sell a rare comic with the first appearance of a character. When my wife hears how much the comic is worth she asks me if I have it in my collection. The true answer 9 out of 10 times is yes, but for her I say maybe…

She would want me to dig it out sell it and put up a fence for the dog ?
