Super User DitchPanda Posted September 19, 2022 Super User Posted September 19, 2022 So I've lived up north for 21 years and never really worn much flannel. My best buddy loves it and wears it constantly so I'm ready to give in and rock the look of many of the greatest men to walk the earth I.E. Hemingway, Nick Offerman, Otis "toad" Smith and that dude from Dumb and Dumber that hocked on Jeff Daniels burger. Looking for some brand suggestions? 1 Quote
BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted September 19, 2022 BassResource.com Administrator Posted September 19, 2022 Filson. Serious quality. Great selection. Super User Jar11591 Posted September 19, 2022 Super User Posted September 19, 2022 I love the Carhartt flannels. I’ve worn them for years and they still seem knew. Everything they make is great quality. Huk just released a flannel as well which I wanna try. I love all their other clothing. 2 Quote

Super User Jigfishn10 Posted September 19, 2022 Super User Posted September 19, 2022 If I'm working outside at the house or in the field for my job, I'd wear something like this: At work, I'd wear this as like a jacket. Unbuttoned and with a golf shirt under or a colored t-shirt, depending on the setting. 3 Quote
Super User scaleface Posted September 19, 2022 Super User Posted September 19, 2022 I wear flannel considerably , light weight , heavy and lined .My local Farm store sells a brand called Stillwater . I see it as more of an older person type apparel. I rarely see anyone my age or younger wearing it anymore. Plus I'm an oven 365 days/year and long sleeves are way too hot, even in the Midwest winter. Quote

It was 81 degrees outside. Could only have been a fashion choice 1 Quote
Super User Mobasser Posted September 19, 2022 Super User Posted September 19, 2022 If possible I like to get better quality flannel shirts. Cheap ones are thin and shrink too much in the wash. They also don't hold they're shape. I don't think they've ever really gone out of style. I've been wearing them a long time. Most younger guys wear sweatshirts of some kind. I like both. Carhartt is a good brand. 2 Quote

padlin Posted September 19, 2022 Posted September 19, 2022 I've used LL Bean's for years, never tried another brand so take it for what it's worth. On edit... Mine are flannel lined. 2 Quote
Super User GaryH Posted September 19, 2022 Super User Posted September 19, 2022 LL Bean, Carhartt, Woolrich all great brand. I personally go with Woolrich. They last a lifetime. There expensive but the factory outlet isn’t to far for me in Woolrich Pa. And once a year they have sales at the factory store for massive savings. 9 hours ago, A-Jay said: Flannel is a religion here. Second only to most anything Camouflage. A-Jay Amen brother 3 Quote
