Would love to see some retirees, old time pros, just add some comments to the discussions.  That would be so great for the discussions.  I have so much respect for these guys and the experiences they have gained along the way.

Nothng, no pros needed for me. I get all my tips from the members on this site by being able to ask a member a question from their posts.

Totally agree ?

Just because someone ain't a "Professional" doesn't mean they don't know how to catch fish.

One of the best bass fisherman I ever met was an Independent Baptist Pastor by trade.

The most arrogant selfcenterd fisherman I ever met was a "Professional" angler.

Oh by the way we've had some Professionals & even renowned biologist on here.

I can't get enough of the fish biology stuff.   That's my favorite stuff to read about.   Hope they keep posting, and we add some more to the roster.

I wonder how Paul (Nature of Fishing youtube) is doing. His stuff was great.

@Glenn deep-dive podcasts on specifc structure/cover/situations/techniques. Most of the podcasts out there are like talk radio, lots of chatter, not so much content.

Any pros, really. I follow a couple pros’ YouTube channels. They appear to enthusiasts, like ourselves, when they’re in their social groups.

Didn’t we have one before even created a sub-forum for it but failed miserably? The problem is pro or celebrities might not have time or interest to visit the forum everyday or a few times a day like most of us do. Another problem is one of those questions, which rod is good for this or reel good for that, which color of plastic the best, or even which high end stuffs should I get, do you think Pro want to answer that on daily basis unless promote their sponsorship.
Accept that most of our forum members are kind of beginners, and those questions will pop up regularly. Do they care about in-depth techniques or just want to know what to buy and catch fish. They don’t even know (or know but too lazy) to search for their own benefit. Another thing is most pro or celebrities own bass boat and their suggestion for each technique base on boat approach. I think majority of us don’t and those approaches might not benefit them much.

I've met one of the people mentioned a few times.  He could tell funny stories for years.   There's plenty of fishing knowledge out there.  Some humor would be great.

I would welcome any information as long as they are not pushing product.

They’d probably get tired of being just a regular forum member here in a week with all the same questions asked over and over and the billion 1.5 pound pond fish posted.

PS I would read or listen to a full in depth how to on breaking down a new lake for an upcoming tournament. Specific to times of year/water temp.

It might surprise ya but all the Pro I know & have met are just like us in that they love to talk about fishing.

@Glenn can probably tell how easy it is to get talking fishing.

Shaw Grigsby is an absolute live wire, I think he makes his coffee with Redbull

That doesn’t surprise me. They have a passion or they wouldn’t be pro I think.
But they aren’t here talking now on their own.

It's been tried her in the past. Maybe @Glenn has a different game plan up his sleeves this time.

Professional bass angler is a professional sponsor promoter, it’s as important as catching bass.

BR we are looking for the professional bass anglers honest replies on how they catch bass consistently, what are their go to lures and presentations...that is a lot at ask someone to disclose openly.

I decided to share my non-professional bass fishing knowledge openly because I am old and no longer have any “secrets” to protect.

There is a old saying “the whale that surfaces gets harpooned”, don’t expect a pro bass anglers to harpoon himself.

A pro can Share openly as long as sharing doesn’t impact their successes earning a living fishing.

I agree with the crowd to having them be just another bass junkie sharing stories, giving useful feedback and just interacting. I wouldn’t want someone pushing their product at me everytime I read something by them.

beat option I think would be some one no longer fishing competitively but still firmly anchored in the sport…. A Davy Hite type person.

Seems there's a restriction against them joining now? If that's the case, I say lift it. Let them come hang out and post if they want to, but be under no obligation to do so. I think that may have been the issue with James, it was an obligation he really didn't have time for, and folks would get unhappy when they didn't get a timely response.

Whatever they want.  While I would definitely enjoy any pre-produced media, such as videos, podcasts, articles, whatever, I'd find most helpful a Q&A section.  I've seen some forums do that.  The problem always is, the pro loses interest pretty quick, and gets inundated with questions that go ignored.  So they usually answer a handful and then disappear.  I can't blame them.  I'd probably do the same.  They've got more important things to focus on.  But just being able to have a conversation with one of your heroes, even online through text, is pretty special.

Personally I'd like to hear more on the biology and different ecosystems and how it effects bass and more importantly forage habits. There is not much info on this and the info I can find is vague at best. I don't even care if it's a non pro fisherman and more of a biologist. Maybe mix it up between articles, q/a and video. Maybe a video/article once a month and 2 weeks after a q/a on the topic after people have had a minute to digest the information?

I've got a boat full of crap and thousands of videos/articles on how to use baits. For me that would be the least thing I'd want more of. I also don't want to be peddled crap on here from people with a vested interest. I value people opinions on gear/lures here because it's real world experience and not what someone has to sell.

Just my .02

Hey guys,

If a top pro like KVD or Brandon Palaniuk, or big name like Bill Dance or Hank Parker could join the BassResource team, what would you like him to do?  Remember, BassResource is more than these forums.  We have articles and videos too.  Plus there's several social channels.

So we could do YouTube shorts, or long format videos, or Facebook/YouTube live shows.  Then there's Instagram too.  Podcasts?

There's so many things we could do, but what would you like to see?

I've been trying to think of how you could use those guys. The names you listed are legends so anything from them would be incredible, but IMO they have too much to offer just to field mundane questions about what rod, line, or lures they like.

One of the main things I love about fishing with more experienced anglers are the stories they tell of how they became the fishermen they are today. I love learning from their experience because it makes me a better fisherman. Imagine the stories those guys have.

To become the best ever, these guys mastered the art of knowing why, when, and how to do certain things. What I'd love to hear are the hows/whys behind their decisions. Getting into the minds of those greats could be extremely entertaining and educational. It would be great in video format or written articles. The stories those guys could tell would help us all become better bass fishermen. Sharing experiences, and learning to be better bass fishermen is why we're on this site. That would be my wish from them. That...or a chance to fish with them and hear the stories myself. ?

best podcast i ever listened to had as a guest the head of the production and testing guy from berkley baits division.

He explained how they mix up ingrediants to make Gulp Alive and Max scent baits.

The tank tests they do with bass and the response the fish give to the various ingrediants and then to the production of final product.

He and his team spent many months testing the baits out on the water all the while gettin paid to fish, any job openings?

He also stated and laughed at garlic scents as just a gimick and no good. Yes he has to sell his product and if berkley had garlic i am sure it would work wonders.

I like this.  I'd listen to 30 minute podcasts of G-Man, KVD, Andy Montgomery, Zona,  BLat, even Ike....and many others....just talking about random stuff on the trails....or about interactions with others on the water or at the ramps....the one that got away....or how I messed up on Day 4 of the 1995 Classic....or who influenced them, or even just Dude Wipes.   But not which three shades of purple work best in stained Mississippi ponds in May.
