FrogInTheWell Posted September 16, 2022 Posted September 16, 2022 I found one NIB at an estate sale. I don't really remember them but it looks to be older judging by the paperwork inside. Anyone know when they were made, are they any good? Took a chance and paid 50 bucks for it. Tried to post photo but no luck, Thanks. Quote

FrogInTheWell Posted September 17, 2022 Author Posted September 17, 2022 Just now, new2BC4bass said: This one? http://www.tackletour.com/reviewshimanoscorpion.html Yup, 2004 huh? Wonder how they performed over the long run? Thanks for the link.. Did some research and I guess this is reel was basically a JDM Curado .. Quote
Super User JustJames Posted September 17, 2022 Super User Posted September 17, 2022 They perform great and better than a lot of newer model in 100-200 price range. If it is brand new and you paid only 50, that is a super good deal there. Quote
FrogInTheWell Posted September 17, 2022 Author Posted September 17, 2022 I think I did ok on it. It sure doesn't appear to have ever been used..i.e not sign of being mounted on a rod...and no line. The dust on the box was another clue, lol Thanks for the replies, Joe. Quote
Derek1 Posted September 17, 2022 Posted September 17, 2022 $50 is cool, I would have bought it. now throw some line on it and go fishing. Quote
Super User new2BC4bass Posted September 17, 2022 Super User Posted September 17, 2022 If you read the article, then you saw maximum tested drag was 3 pounds. That is why I planned on using mine on a ML rod. I paid almost 3 times that amount several years ago for a used specimen. Second time out the drag started stuttering. Had plans (and still do) of sending it out for cleaning, but with so many other reels on hand that hasn't happen yet. I like the looks of the reel, and as I remember it cast just fine. It is a Shimano, so longevity should be excellent. No idea about part availability. Quote
