I have a minn kota edge 70 and in rough water or under high speeds, the motor will turn itself around on its own.  I know this happens to a lot of people but can't seem to find a solution.  I saw a product called perfecttroll but have not heard of anyone using it.  Does anyone have any good ideas on how to remedy this?  Thanks a lot.

Did you try tightening the tension adjustment under the pedal?  (its right above where the wires come into the pedal)

Not sure about Edge but both MK's I have owned had one.  And both motors are uncontrolable when the tension is too loose.

The product "troll perfect" is the best idea since sliced bread. It takes the torque out of foot controlled trolling motors, is inexpensive, and is certainly getting a lot of usage by a growing number of the pros. The website is www.trollperfect.com. I fish mostly tidal water so I have to fight not only the wind, trolling motor torque, but also the tide. This is truely a great product. Kahuna

I looked at the Troll Perfect webpage and then went and made my own with a strip of rubber gasket-like material that I had in my garage and a couple hose clamps. Works like a charm.

I will try adjusting the screw but I have read a lot of people still have problems.  Has anyone had any experience with the Troll Perfect.

I have one on my TE82 for those times when I have to use lots of power and don't want torque. I keep the bottom loose until I need it. Then just a thumb screw and 2 seconds and it is any way I want it.
