I'm a bank angler, and usually around this time of year on Lake Pickwick, bass will push shad up close to the bank of the rip rap I fish over 6-10 feet of water i would estimate. What would be your ideal spinnerbait size/brand/blade combination for this technique? Thanks!

I’d start with a half ounce strike king burner with razor blades (thin double willow). You can burn them pretty quickly. Then let the fish tell you why that’s wrong and what they want.

I use the War Eagle Screamin' Eagle in 1/2 oz. The weight is "hidden" along the hook shank and the bait itself is on a 1/4 frame. It's a smoker with the downsized blades. The wire tied skirt negates the need for a trailer of any sort and thus allows greater speed without blowing out.

I assume you mean burning “below the surface,” not actually on the surface. Burning a spinnerbait literally on the surface would be a topwater.

StrikeKing also makes a bait with Razor blades, I can't remember the actual name, but both are excelent 1/2oz. baits that don't roll on their side when burned just under the surface.
