The Mrs. the past couple nights has been reading off some useless facts she sees on Tick Tok. I’m not sure what it is about them but they intrigue me, so here goes.

Your brain will not allow you to swallow more than 3-4 times in a row. (I was able to get 4 ?)

An ant will survive a fall from any height. (I want to try this from my roof but I’ll probably never find the ant once I let it go)

We are born with only two fears, loud noises, and falling

You can not touch your right shoulder with your right palm

A human can live 6 days after being skinned alive. (How in the bleep do they know this)

So there you go, you now have some random stupid facts.

Let’s hear some of your random stupid facts.

Armadillos can carry leprosy

While correct, the much bigger concern is they can mess up otherwise healthy and beautiful turf grass looking for turf grubs ?

I assume you won't eat an Armadillo ?

An average angler spends $1,261 on fishing each year.

Anglers spend almost $300 million a year just on ice to preserve fishes longer.

One million Americans spend an average of 17 days fishing.

I actually knew this one. I watched a show one time where a kid shot one and got armadillo blood on him and he contracted leprosy. Almost killed him!

I find this one intriguing...so every other fear is then learned, whether real or 'imaginary'.

Apparently.

Makes sense, just like hate, it’s not something we are born with. It’s developed from being taught or our experiences.

I'm not really buying it.  Impossible to prove or disapprove.  I could say it's a useless fact that babies are born with green pumpkin as there favorite color and put it on FB and it wouldn't be any different.  Any favorite colors later in life are learned.

Impossible to prove or disprove, but plausible and kinda makes sense. Babies are easily startled by loud noises and newborns will sometimes spontaneously reach their arms and legs out as if they feel they’re falling. They’re in the womb for 9 months which is a confined space then are born and have a wide open space with no boundaries. I’m guessing that’s why swaddling a newborn is pretty common.

The one I’m skeptical of is how does anyone know a human can survive 6 days after being skinned alive.

I always take any 'facts' with a heavy dose of skepticism, especially if linked to social media in any way.  If you read something and think that it sounds wild, then it probably isn't true (or at least wholly accurate).  For instance, the swallowing 4 times can't be patently true unless there are some hidden conditions.  I can drink a quart of apple cider straight down and it takes more than 4 swallows.  I can also touch my right shoulder with my right palm without too much difficulty.

Flaying definitely has historical data since humans are awful at times and there are records of it being used for torture and punishment.  But you're not going to live for 6 days while fully skinned  Dehydration alone would kill you, let alone the blood loss.

Same here. I’ve spent about that in the past three months. Lol

It's a little under my yearly budget - but not by much.

Course last year, the lion's share went to the F-9 rebuild - this year...some new reels and rods are on the list.

Other than the artic and antartic, a person is never more than 6 feet from a spider at any time in their life…

I'd believe that for sure.

There is another fact about how many spiders people unknowingly eat during their lifetimes too

Again, heavy dose of scepticism.  'Never' is an absolute word.  I go scuba diving.  Spiders don't come with me.

That was in the fine print I left out. Just swallow without trying to drink anything.
