Just to be clear ~

The Pro-V Bass hull IS NOT LEAKING !

Good Talking to ya

A-Jay

Not YET, but being it's a Lund, it might be by the time you turn 125 or so!!! ? BTW, that's a pretty smooth looking ride considering the chop you were in. Awesome rig for the waters you fish.

From a review...

"1875 Pro-V Series hull and feature long-lasting riveted construction backed by a lifetime warranty."

The keel is welded. Everything else is riveted.

Alumacrafts are also a riveted hull - for a lower priced option.

Alumacraft makes a fine boat. I wouldn't necessarily call them a lower priced boat. I haven't seen an Alumacraft layout that I have fallen in love with. Lund makes every inch of the layout functional.

I don’t think so.

Not specifically bass - but they do have a few general fishing models with rod lockers, livewells, and casting decks.

No

You'd be looking at their Competitor line for their best multispecies option.

I really like my Vexus. More than likely keep It when I get It back. Hopefully the issue is fixed since they’ve gone to thicker aluminum now.

I've owned 4 riveted hull boats. 2 Lunds, a Mirrocraft, and a Starcfaft. None of them have leaked. One of the Lunds and the Starcraft are/were little 14 footers. The Lund was a 20 footer and the predecessor to the ProV Bass. The boat was solid. It saw water every weekend from ice out to ice up. I ran it on Lake Michigan and my home water, which is the busiest inland freshwater waterway per acre in the US. I only bring up those examples because the boat saw some rough stuff, pretty regularly, and performed flawlessly.

I bought riveted hull boats because I've seen multiple warped welded hulls. Without knowing the background of how they warped, I can only guess it was from rough water. The higher end Lunds and Alumacrafts have a double plated bow. Can't do that with a weld.

Don't have any personal experience with Vexus. They are a sharp looking boat and have years of knowledge behind them. Hopefully they make things right.

Thanks. I’m thinking about selling my Vexus and getting one of these. Not a lot of lunds down south. I’m thinking the riveted hull could allow some flex that a welded hull won’t.

FYI my ‘21 Vexus cracked and getting the hull replaced to a 2023 this month.

I’m looking, what you mention is the same as all the reviews I read or seen about those boats. I see it’s been happening for years.
Zero interest in that brand.
will probably go glass this time.

I love my boat and the customer service is the best I’ve seen (besides Basscat). Vexus has a lot of history. They’ve just had some growing pains with their aluminum line. However they’ve backed their customers 100% and have changed the design of the hulls and gone with thicker aluminum to fix the problem.
Your statement sounds like they have had a problem for years and aren’t addressing It. That’s not the case.

Vexus doesn't have a lot of history. Their management does.

Ok, I didn’t realize we were splitting hairs. Sorry. Yes the people, who make up Vexus, have a lot of history and knowledge in the industry. Thank you for clarifying. I do know that the company itself It young.

I don't think it's splitting hairs. All the history in the world doesn't make the first run of a product line perfect. R&D and trial and error does. Legend Bass Boats had a similar history with influencing by Champion and they folded after 15 years. Legend sponsored the tournament trail I used to fish and I thought they had a d**n fine marketing plan. Genius to advertise semi-custom boats. Build the boat your way. Sharp looking hulls and they handled well. Turned out, they had some pretty major hull issues. I don't know if that was the cause of them to fold or if it was something else.

All of Trackers history and when they came out with the 19ft Pro Team the transoms were cracking.

Lund has things mastered. They use the same hull technology for all of their boats with a few tweaks here and there. My Lund experience wasn't perfect. I had paint peeling off the hull after the maiden voyage and it took 2 years and a lot of frustration to get it repainted. That's another story.

All I'm saying is the first couple runs of anything are a crap shoot.

I understand that last part about being a crap shoot. It is what It is. I love my Vexus and the customer service has been better than I could ask for. We will see.

I could be wrong but I think Bass Pro bought Legend and canned them.

But I do like the looks of the Lund a lot too. You don’t see them a lot down here. I would consider one for sure if I decide to go a different route.

Perhaps it has something to do with the fact that they're made up here.  We don't see a lot of Trackers or Tritons up here but they're obviously very popular in other parts of the country.  Additionally, Lund's line of fishing boats wasn't originally built off a bass rig either.  In fact, only until recently did they start making them.  Their history is with deep V boats, primarily the Lund Pro V.  @slonezp used to have a Lund Predator which is similar to the Lund Pro V Bass version now.  Lunds are extremely popular up here, but most of them are not bass boats.  Many of them are actually tillers because most people walleye fish.  My late Grandfather had one for many years.

Yes, similar to why you probably don’t see skeeters a lot but everyone has one here.

The Predator was essentially the Pro V Bass layout only with the Pro V hull which has a deeper freeboard than the Pro V Bass does.
