ABLE2DISABLE1 Posted October 2, 2010 Posted October 2, 2010 What would you pay for and How much would it be worth to you to stabilize your Jon Boat for a Bow mount Trolling Motor to run with out swaying all over in the wind.Positioning of your boat will be endless. And with out hand's on maintenance for control. Please give me an Idea on what it is Worth to you.For more fishing time in the water.I've had Bass Boat's, V Hall's, and Tri Halls. This specifically targets the little guy's that can't afford a Bass Boat and want to be set up like the Pros and Joe's of the boating world.I'm in the process of raising fund's to get this product out and into circulation for the up coming 2011 I-Cast show. With out disclosing what this is ,and I know it is hard to think of an amount of money to pay for, when you haven't seen it.What a 100.00$ or 150.00...............?
Super User Fishing Rhino Posted October 2, 2010 Super User Posted October 2, 2010 For me? Nothing. I don't have a jon boat.
Super User Bassin_Fin@tic Posted October 3, 2010 Super User Posted October 3, 2010 So, this is something to help you out if your not using an outboard on the rear of a small boat or what? I hate running my trolling motor from the rear but don't have much of a choice. When I mount it to the bow the rear end fishtails and gets away from me really bad especially in the wind. So how exactly does this work. I need a way to mount my motor to the front and be able to comfortably run it to keep at least 2 people in proper casting position. I fish small ponds and lakes a lot using a topper boat that I throw on my car or in the back of a truck. If there's a decent way to solve this problem I'd like to see it. Probably be willing to pay 50-100 dollars for a system to help me position in the wind. So whats the deal? Is there any more info on how this works, or are you trying to see if it is something that people will want? I for one would like to see what this is about.Anything to help a small boat out in the wind
Super User Wayne P. Posted October 3, 2010 Super User Posted October 3, 2010 Since I have been using foot controlled bow mount trolling motors on jon boats and bass boats since the early 1970's, I wouldn't pay anything to replace my foot on a trolling motor foot pedal. My foot works very well in giving me precise and instant boat contol whether in wind, current, or calm.
TopDog Posted October 3, 2010 Posted October 3, 2010 your going to have to trust a few people and let them see/feel what you are talking about to give you an idea what they would pay. If it costs you more to make than what they say they would pay, why bother?
Super User Long Mike Posted October 4, 2010 Super User Posted October 4, 2010 Let me get this straight. Are you trying to perform a market survey of Jon boat owners (who are mostly budget constrained) for an unproven product that the potential buyers know absolutely nothing about? And then, you want to know how much they would pay for the unproven product that they know nothing about? Why don't you try this approach? Get a patent for this new product. Determine how much it will cost you to manufacture the product, then add on the profit you would want to make, before taxes. Then try test marketing it at the price you need. For example, you may want to come back to this board in a few months as an advertiser, touting your new great product for only Eleventeen Dollars. ;D
Super User Grey Wolf Posted October 4, 2010 Super User Posted October 4, 2010 Here we go again !!!!!!!!!!
Super User cart7t Posted October 4, 2010 Super User Posted October 4, 2010 Done been done already. Sorry.
Super User Fishing Rhino Posted October 4, 2010 Super User Posted October 4, 2010 I like it! A weed eater converted into a trolling motor.
Super User Fishes in trees Posted October 4, 2010 Super User Posted October 4, 2010 I'm trying to get a picture in my mind of what you mean. I've fished out of all kinds of boats that had front mounted trolling motors - v hulls, jon boats, pond boats, etc., rigged in various ways. Boat control wasn't that difficult with any of them, and with a very marginal amount of ingenuity, you can rig a rudder that will clamp on to the transom, and that helped a bunch in most cases. So, I don't get what you're trying to ask, or sell, or even what the question really is. Sorry. Good luck with your mystery product, I hope it solves whatever marginally identified issue its designed to fix. On further review, I'm sorry - kinda. I was being a smartass - kinda. I still don't have a picture in my head of what you mean - really.
ABLE2DISABLE1 Posted October 4, 2010 Author Posted October 4, 2010 Yes, I am trying to get an idea on cost. And like I said ,I'm sorry that I can not disclose a photo. And I'm not here for a shooting match either. This is a New idea off an Old design which is in a field all buy it self. You can't find it on the Internet or in any store.I do not care if you are interested in buying this, just would like to now how much would you pay for some thing you can't see? Sorry no Pic's.

tracker01 Posted October 5, 2010 Posted October 5, 2010 Sorry, I can not imagine asking someone to send me over $100.00 and and I will send you a "mystery something". You figure what it costs to make it and also a profit and put it out there.

Do you buy cars before you see it? If so I have a good running 1997 Honda Accord. Can't tell you anything more about but I was wondering what you would pay for it. I was thinking somewhere around like $4,000. Let me know if you want it. This has to be a joke. Nobody is going to buy anything without seeing it first. Sounds like you are blowing smoke.
Super User slonezp Posted October 5, 2010 Super User Posted October 5, 2010 Why the extra $.07? I might pay $107.00 but $107.07, that's highway robbery!
