All the time, but it’s an itch I don’t scratch as often or easily nowadays. Reels only get my attention when there’s a bargain to be had, but rods are a different story and can send me on an hours long dive into YouTube and reading everything I can find. Being retired has changed how readily I spend my money, but my old habits haven’t entirely gone away.

I'm working on the problem. I've been clean for about a month so I'm pretty proud.

Yep.  Sadly a little too much.

Thankfully shipping costs have really curtailed my rod buying habit. I honestly have a problem buying reels, though. Thank God they are rarely over 75 dollars, I mostly buy used stuff.

Keep at it and you will start to catch up with me.    I've been a good boy.  Haven't bought a rod or reel in 9 months.  I'm thinking the Bait Monkey has forgotten all about me.

He hasn't forgotten about you.  He has simply been spending way to much time at my house.  Now that I'm broke, I'm sure he will start lurking around your place.

Every day. Waiting on a rod in the mail now. Then I’ll need a reel to go with it. It’s a never ending cycle. Collecting tackle is a hobby in itself.

Maybe I’m in the minority here, but since I will only buy rods and reels in person, that itch doesn’t get scratched very often because I don’t visit retail stores regularly.
