My eyes are pretty good at night but an IR assist would be awesome for really tucking it tight into cover. HAHA, imagine a rod with a built IR laser tip. I think I'd have to go with a dual/binoc setup, like two PVS14s on a lightweight bump or skateboarding helmet. That's like a $10k setup lol

I just checked and for a basic headset here you’re talking $1800 or so. In the UK I think you could get a basic one for a couple hundred bucks. I’ll have to check with my UK buddies and see what it possible. For $200-400 I’d consider one. It would be useful for this but also walking into my stands early and late. 1
Super User GreenPig Posted September 9, 2022 Super User Posted September 9, 2022 I'm a meat eater and that includes sub 3lb bass. I started removing 30 - 50 bass from my pond annually 25 years ago and I now have some big girls in there. 7

You can't eat the fish out of the Coosa imo. Let’s not lump crappy ponds you fish in with all “public waters”. I fish huge lakes and have no problem eating fish from them. And although I don’t specifically target bass to keep, if one isn’t going to make It I don’t shed a tear. I throw It in the livewell or cooler with any sand bass or crappie I happen to catch and fry It up. If you think bass is gross then you either just don’t like fish period or you don’t know how to cook. 3 hours ago, Woody B said: Or after carrying them around in a live well all day stuff them in a sack to weigh them for a "mines bigger than yours" contest. Man. There’s a lot of “I’m better than you” in this thread. You mean the contests that got bass fishing where It is today? 18 minutes ago, GreenPig said: I'm a meat eater and that includes sub 3lb bass. You mean the contests that got bass fishing where It is today? Made my mouth water I seemed to make a number of people quite emotional over my reply, I'm a crazy coming out of the woodwork, I'm a PETA type, don't know how to cook, etc. All things I've never posted. I'm not alone in the fact I don't enjoy eating Bass. I also get some like them. Some people eat Carp too. I do take "all your crappy ponds" you fish as a true insult, but I'll take the highroad. I live within an hour drive in every direction of a major reservoir known for world class Bass fishing. Find a better trophy Bass fishery than Lake Guntersville? Find a better Trophy Smallmouth fishery than Lake Pickwick, and the rest of the TVA waters? Find a better trophy Spotted Bass fishery than the Coosa, and Lay Lake? I don't fish crappy little ponds, I fish well known lakes with proud Bass fishing histories. Most importantly my home lake which is private is the furthest thing from a crappy little pond than you could imagine. It's electric only, zero industry surrounds it, little to no fishing pressure. Pristine, clean, deep, hundreds of acres, and is able to maintain a fantastic population of Alabama Bass which is exceptionally rare for a lake of this size. 3
