We all need something to look forward to. For outdoorsmen and outdoorswomen it’s the next outing. The subtle tug on the end of your line. The sound of careful footsteps in the woods.  I accept it’s in my blood

This is why I am a "snowbird". I move back to SE GA at the end of this month. No more taking a break during the winter for me!

I look forward to fall, with changing colors and better temperatures. Fishing can be good at times.

I used to have a sign hanging in the house that said “a man has to believe in something…….. I believe I’ll go fishin”

Despite looking forward to fall fishing I absolutely cannot wait to introduce my daughter to fishing and shooting in another year or 2.

Aside from that I look forward to consistently being able to call conditions and expected fish locations. I can do it sometimes but not consistently enough for me to feel like I have a good base on my lakes.

Also....after 35 years I finally took my hunter safety course! Looking forward to giving it a go and no longer having to swindle deer meat from my buddies.

Nothing gets me all giddy like thinking about the next time I’m going fishing. Been like that since I was old enough to hold a rod and it will be like that until I’m too weak to hold one.

I got out this morning for a few hours. Lake fished for greenies. Recent rain put a nice stain on it. Nothing real heavy. Managed 3 fish, first fish on first cast with a topwater. At a quick drop off. That will wake you up quick. Made the switch to cranking. Tried to run baits at 12-15 feet. Seems like this range is where I’m getting bit. Had a nice bite that was on for a very short time. Had some weight and mass to it. Sort of hit close to below the boat. Feel my angle for hook set was not that great. Passed back through that area with longer casts. Did pick up another fish I’m pretty sure we are not talking the same fish. 15” about 2 lbs.

I’m looking forward to the next few weeks. Gonna try to pick up two DT- 20’s. I could be wrong but I feel the fish are gonna make a move to shallower water. I think the bluegill are gonna go shallower.

I sure look forward to the next time I go fishing. Preparing the night before, rigging what bait ya want to start with, where ya going to start the morning out. Pushing the boat away from the dock….. it’s all good

I've got knee replacement surgery to look forward to before years end. I'll get in some great late fall action then spend the dead of winter rehabbing while the wife goes to work. Early spring I should have my mojo back and she'll be in better shape from shoveling snow instead of me. Sounds like a plan (I hope).

For me, it's having a bass boat.  I've been canoe fishing a lot, and have blown around a cursed a borrowed tinner too many times.  The savings account is growing and my hope is that by next spring I'll be in a position to change that.  A casting deck, a trolling motor and netting big 'uns for my kids is what my dreams are made of these days.

For me, it's every open water season.

5 or 6 months of hard water builds some serious anticipating.

Especially knowing how good it can be right from the start.

On the other end of this spectrum is the approaching of each winter.

Does offer me plenty of time to challenge myself in the home gym however.

While that prospect is equally awarding in that hard work pays great dividends it's not nearly as fun as fishing.  I do look forward to my workouts but not in the same vein as I look forward to my fishing trips. At times I can hardly sleep due to the anticipation of being on the water as the world wakes up. I never get that excited over my workouts.... I will say that if I did I would be in much better shape!

I hear ya ~

Agree it's not the same but once the hard cap is on my choices get somewhat limited. Especially since I sort of have no middle ground.

I'm either product or destructive.

Finally, you're in Great Shape!

@Big Rick and @A-Jay I certainly look forward to being able to lift again too! Being healthy is something to look forward to! It’s been a rough road healing this injury. I’ve had a lot of frustrations but my physical therapist this morning may have just found a key in what brings me relief. It feels much better now than it has in days. Now know different ways to strengthen and stretch this
