Let's keep it on topic and answer the OP's question.

For me, it's a no-go for anything Googan.  On the other hand, it's hard to go wrong with anything RageTail.

I'm a huge Rage Bug fan.  Same with their craws and a few other Rage items.   I have never used a googan bait.   It will be real hard to get me to part from Rage, Zman, and Missile.

What about missile and which missile are your preferences?  I have some d-bombs and d-bomb mini that were on sale at one point.  The mini is nice as a finesse jig trailer size wise.  The regular is a good size for a regular jig when you want a trailer with not a ton of action.  They are a pain to thread onto a hook though and I don't know that they fish any better than other options.

I've bounced between Rage bugs and Googans Bandito Bug/Krackin Craw. They both catch fish but seems like the Googan brand tends to get tore up by just the smallest of fish.

I can't speak to why people suggest one brand over another, other than that ALL lure companies testify that their lures are the best and the people they sponsor are paid to use & represent them.

As for me, my experience with Bandito Bugs and other Googan products is they don't hold up and tend to tear just casting them, especially as a jig trailer. I mainly use Rage Craws and Bugs or Berkley Powerbait and Max Scent. They are still aoft, but hold up better than Googan.

I use the Dbomb for T rigs and sometimes on a shaky head.   Then T rig a D Stroyer.   The Mini D Chunk makes a good trailer.  Especially on smaller jigs since its a smaller trailer.

My two favorite brands are perhaps the two worst brands in terms of durability.....Roboworm, and Zoom.

My TW order is (hopefully) due soon and I included the Roboworms in it to try out. The pond bass here have been in love with longer worms lately and my supply of worms from Zoom and Yum Dingers are dwindling. ?

Have not tried anything Googan but use Rages a good bit.

Got a TW order that just shipped today as well that included 3 bags of the 7" Roboworm.   Monkey got us both, and all it took was 15% off lol.

You're gonna love them, been my confidence bait since I found them when you had to order them through their mail order catalog.

Their unique salt release + the unbeatable action of a hand pour makes for a perfect bait.  Drop one in a sink or tub and watch it's action vs. anything else.    Their dual and sometimes triple layer coloring is another thing that make them stand out to me.   They used to offer a FX series, and they were the most beautiful plastic worms I've ever seen.  The current stuff is still the best looking plastics on the market imho, but not like the old FX series.   I'm a big fanboy as you can tell :)

Answering the basic question not differences between 2 brands.

Salt water soft plastics that are injection molded are more durable, not as soft to withstand salt water fish.

Fresh water soft plastics injection molded into multiple cavities require more heat that tend to stiffen the plastisol and still remain softer then salt water plastics.

Hand or robotic poured soft plastics are molded cooler using softer plastisol and cool slower staying softer, flexible and lighter specific gravity...tend to float in lieu of sink.

My guess is Googan molds higher quantity cavity molds requiring higher temps creating a stiffer plastic then Strike King Rage Tails. Googan also pays a royalty to Strike King. For the patent right for Rage Tails.

Roboworms are very soft with proprietary infused dissolved salt unlike other soft plastics, a robotic hand pour. No longer offer the FX product.

why you would overrate a plastic that falls apart on one catch, over another lure that guarantees three or four.

Because plastics that fall apart easily like a roboworm or Yamamoto style brand plastisols have alot more free movement and natural action. Stiff plastics can be a dead action. Elaztech style baits are a entire different animal
